Summary Report

2021-2022 was challenging due to the COVID -19 pandemic and ensuing restrictions. During this time we were unable to hold any fund raising activities and this also affected opportunities to visit organisations to encourage volunteering.

We incurred expenses for the School Improvement Plan documents to be forwarded by Thom Symon (the Malawian man who built and runs the school) to the government departments. This was necessary in order to secure the future of the school.

Our Christmas Appeal went ahead and we sent approximately 130 Christmas parcels to the children of Colourful Dreams School. This was financed from donations made from supporters. Unfortunately there were unforeseen costs as we had to make unexpected payments to customs and excise before they would release the parcels. This is the first time this has happened. We also had to finance a trip by Thom Symon to travel to collect the parcels from Blantyre. We sent funds to cover cost of staff wages at Colourful Dreams School.
