Structure, Governance and Management
The Mabon Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with a foundation model constitution with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
New trustees may be appointed by the current trustees in accordance with the governing document.
Objectives and Activities
To further such charitable purposes for the public benefit within the Rhondda as are exclusively charitable according to the laws of England and Wales, and which the trustees, in their absolute discretion, determine through the making of grants and donations.
Background
The Trust’s activities began prior to charitable registration in 2021, having evolved from the Rhondda Calendar Society.
Each year, the Rhondda Calendar Society (now the Mabon Trust) produces a calendar showcasing photographs taken across the Rhondda. Income generated through calendar sales is distributed as micro-grants to local groups and charities.
The Trust continues to deliver this work in accordance with its charitable objectives.

In 2024, the Mabon Trust awarded a total of £1,900.00 in grants and donations to the following community groups and organisations:

In addition to our core grant-making activity, the Trust continued to promote community engagement through the sale of the annual Rhondda Calendar . Income from these sales remains the main source of funding for our charitable work.
