**Aims and Objectives of Charity:** The charity is responsible for the direct management of the area known as the Millennium Wood in Stoke St Michael. It aims to manage the woodland, safely as a site that enables wide access for the community, enabling health and wellbeing, and enhanced education opportunities for the local school and other community interest groups. 

**Review of Activities:** It been another good year for the Stoke St Michael Woodland. Our work programme in the Autumn and Winter of 24/25 included the removal of redundant tree guards and continuing the cutting back of glades and rides to enable enhanced access and to encourage light to areas of the woodland for the benefit of the woodland’s flora and fauna. 

We are pleased to have a small, dedicated and committed group of volunteers, and we would like to thank them for their ongoing commitment. 

We continue to engage in monthly maintenance of footpaths during the growing season, and as a result we are seeing an increased use of the site by both residents and visitors to Stoke St Michael. We held our AGM in May of 2025 and were pleased to recruit a new trustee to the group. Our plans to further enhance the woodland for the community include over the coming winter (2025/26) the creation of a small orchard at the bottom of the site alongside installation of a new bench that will provide far reaching views towards Downside and Stratton and the Fosse. 

**Health & Safety:** We continue to monitor the woodland monthly to ensure that all access routes and site furniture (e.g., gates) are safe and secure. There have been no issues identified this year. 

**Footpath Maintenance:** Throughout 2024 and 2025 the woodland group has continued to maintain footpaths through both voluntary cutting and 



the use of a trained operator using mower to keep grass areas and footpaths accessible.
