1) To promote the craft of woodtuming for
the Publ￿ benefft and in doing so raise the
appreaats'on of the creatiwty, skill and
hentage of w(x)dtuming.
2) To advance the education of the public in
the craft and skill of woodtuming.

The CIO holds two meetings per month, one

turner or an experienced member of the
CIO. The second meeting of the month is a
harKIyron session where members can
practice and receive tuition in woodtuming.

subsequently attending Taster Sessions at
the CIO.
As a result of these events and other
publicity the membership of the CIO has
conlinued to grow and is nu4V in excess of

both disability and gender. is illustreted by
the increased proportion of female members,
which is no4¥ just over 20% of the
membership.
Both the monthly Demonstration meetings
and Hands-on meetings are well attended
enabling members of the CIO to develop
their skills through the demonstrations and
individual lutoring.
