With great sadness we have to report the passing of our loved and respected member Maggie Furniss. We will miss her not only as a kind. wami and genuine person but also as a wonderful friend and supporter of our club and Rotsry in general. During the year 23124 we were able to fitlancially support various individuals and organisations around the world through L6ndWithca￿ which is an ongoing project and will be supported also in the coming year. For the first time we have participated in the UK-wide Wrapup project, collecting used coats and jackets which we then distribute to people in need during the winter months. Here we cooperated with companies such as Tesco, Sainsbury's and k)cal libraries and churches as collection points. Distribution was then realised again via libraries, community halls and churches. In total we collected and distributed 800 coats and jackets. Locally with another Rotary club we participated in a community raffle where various organisations e.g.. football clubs. youth groups and other charities can raise money for themselves. It was deiced however, that we will abstain from this community raffle in the next year due to pending organisational issues. We have helped out at the local vintage rally and were able to raise a donation which will be used to help sign posting mine fields in the Ukraine. We sold crocus corms and wÈth the proceeds supported the End Polio Now initiative. These are just a few examples of the public benefit projects that we have been involved in during the past year and will continue for the future. During the year we have losl 4 members and won 2 new members. We will start the new year 24125 with 10 members and we plan to increase the membership over the coming year. ArKlreas Adalian President Treasurerfs Report These accounts a￿ for the fourth Financial Year from the 1st of July 2023 year through to 30th June 2024 for the Rotsry e-club South West Peninsula which was charted on 19th June 2020. The HSBC bank account assoaated with the PLC was closed in December 2023 and the funds transferred to our Lloyds accounts after all related bills had been paid and direct debits transferred. The Club raised over £4,256 through a mixture of approaches and used these funds to directly support a number of good causes as can be seen in the accounts. We ended the year with a surplus of £3.671. which is a surplus of £877 to last year. The Club is registered as a private company limited by guarantee and as such these accounts will be submitted to Companies House. We applied to strike off the PLC in December 2023. but this was suspended in Febwary 2024 with an objection from HM Revenue and Customs becaus8 of an unpaid fine. The fine was paid and the strike off the PLC is planned to be reinststed later in 2024. The club also registered with the Charty CommÉssion of England and Wales. number 1193829 The accounts have been examined by an independent examiner and certified by her. Keep proper accounting records which disdose accurately the financial position of the Club at any time. Ensure that the financial statements comply with relevant legislation and guidan￿. Be responsib￿ for safeguarding the assets of Club and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and oth6r irregularities. In as far as the trustees are aware. there is no infomiation of which the Club's independent examiner is unaware. The Irustees have tsken all reasonable steps to make themselves aware of any relevant information and to establish that the independent examiner is aware of Ihat information.
