Fifiancial Revlew
Income for the year increased to £163.355.44.
Expenditure also increased to £140.972.69.
This resulted in a surplus of £22.382.75 and a ck)5in8 balance of £￿.114.05.
Our reserves policy is to hold suffKient resources to continue the chJfitable artivttits of the District should
Income or fund-raising activities fall short of expectations and to enèble the District to underwrtte its
planned pro8famme ot artNitie5, indudin8 large xale events.
The District Executive holds reserves for at kast 6 months of annual operating costs.
The Dlstrict Executive has reviewed the impact of receni economic. soclal and financial pre55ure5 on its
capability to delNer education and devebpment opportunities to youn8 people and has maintained the
level of reserve5.
None of the funds maniged are in defKit and no assets a￿ held by the Ch•rty In the capacity of
custodian trustee.
The Olstritt adopts a risk investment strategy and all fvnds a￿ held In current accounts and low rlsk
interèst bearing accounts, usini only FSCS protected Kcounts.
With the Di5trirt Treasurer, the Dlstrirt E¥ecutNe regular￿ monltors thls of bank balance5 and
nterest rates to ensure the Distrirt is receb¥i￿ best value and income from its b•nkini •rran8ements.
Structure, Go¥ern•nee and M*n•i•m•nt
The Warwick District Scout Council is • Irust established under the rules which are common to all Dlstrirt
Scout Councils as prescribed within the PolKy, Or8aniution and Ru￿5 IPORI of the Scout Ass￿1•t10n.
Tru5tee5 are recruited and appointed In accordance w￿h the relevant sections of the POR.
Warwlck Dlstrlct SCO￿ Council is ￿lstered wfth the Charities Commisslon. number 1193812.
The Trustees have In place systems and internal controls that art des*ned to provNle feasonab
reassurance against mat¢ri•l mismana8ement or Ioss.
These include two Si8natorie5lauthorisers for all payments. comprehensive insurance policies to ensyre that
insurable risks are covered and re8ular reports and risk assessments by those seekin8 to lor running events
or activitles on behalf of the Scour Distflrt.
The Charity meets the Charity Commlssion public benefft criterfa under l>xh the advancement of education
and the advancement of citizenshiplcommunity development.
