Board meetings are normally held 6-8 weeks during which the work of the charity is further supported. Trustees have been involved in further negotiations to get a bigger premises for the charity. ## **Objectives of the Charity** 1. Promote social inclusion of asylum seekers, refugees and BAME groups. 2. To preserve and protect the physical and mental health of victims of human trafficking, rape, and torture. 3. To advance the education and training of those granted refugee status and their dependents. 4.The promotion of social inclusion among elderly persons who are excluded from society because they are house bound. ## **Reviews** COVID had a profound effect on the works of WWLEF as the operating center remained closed to the public during that period. The implementation and respect of safety measures kept us relatively safe during the pandemic and we have done complex casework face to face where possible. The volunteers and ESOL team have been very helpful, putting in the required hours to ensure service users receive the needed assistance. Conversation clubs continued with extension of services to external boroughs where emergency hotels came into use. The destitution services, housing and food store have run throughout and delivering food and clothing where necessary. World-Wide Life Enhancement Facility - Charity Registration number 1193807 – Annual Report and Financial Statement (ARFS). 5 Nationally there was a record number of people in asylum support with a backlog of decisions on cases. Many of them are in the Northwest and in the emergency, hotels brought into use for this purpose by the government. Our clothes bank was very much into use with many of the people requesting assistance having arrived only in what they are standing in at that moment. Deliveries increased as people were placed in city center hotels and the clothes donations restarted. Of all the hard work carried out across the year, WWLEF engaged service users in integrating asylum seekers and refugees with local people, delivering outdoor projects such as cleaning of beaches, tree planting sessions, hill walks and pen-pals writing project. ## **Trustees Report** WWLEF has been very instrumental in its objectives. Several service users have acknowledged this with positive reviews on interviews. It is very gratifying to be recognized in this way and is testament to the hard work and dedication of volunteers, trustees, supporters, and staff that make this unique organization. ## **Funding** Once again, we owe a big thank you all staff and volunteers for the huge work, they do to implement the charity´s objectives. Funds were allocated and spent the way it should be spent, and this contributed to such huge success. The income for this year was £3200 mainly from private sources. These funds have helped our service users enormously and we are grateful for every bit o f help that comes in for the implementation of our objects at WWLF. WWLEF will be seeking large and long-term grants to facilitate sustainability of our valued objects. Presently we do not have external support for human resources but hope to engage in this in the future. The manager is responsible for administration and finance, reporting to the center manager and to the trustee. Trustees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the situation of the charity. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to: - Select suitable accounting principles. - Review methods of operations of the Charity. - Conclude if these are suitable. These are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity.
