Charity trustees
The Constitution of the Charity requires at le4st seven and no more than eleven Tnjstees. Up to two

Ther¢ are up to seven nominated Truste¢s comprising: one TnLSt¢¢ to represent the Diocese of
London. one to represent the episcopal area of Kensington" on¢ to ￿present ecumenical r¢lations. to
be nominated by Churches Together in Teddington: and up to four Tr￿SteeS nominated by the
Deanery of Hampion.
In addition. up to two Tntste¢s be CL￿pted to represent a neighbouring Deanery and on¢ to
repr¢s¢ni a local sports OT activity body* group or or8anisation.
Apart from th¢ fwst Trustees. every apwjinted T￿￿tte is appointed for a t¢rni of three years. In

Publle Beneflt
The Trustees have paid due ff8ard to the Charity Commission's guidan￿ on public benefit in
deciding the a¢tivities undertaken by the Charity in the period. The Truslees are satisfied that the
inforn]alion provided in the report and accounts meets th¢ public benefit reporting requirements.
Activate's overall objective is to promote wellbeing for all, encournglng more activity and greater
inclusion. We aim to connect communilies. build partsJership4 share resources. and strengthen
community bonds. We hope to enable faith 'wh¢re you are,. helping ￿0p1¢ to grow fitt¢r together,
physically. and sptritually.
We seek to engage with all ages, abilities and people, to Cr￿1¢ fun, friendly activity with a
Community focused approach to help people gel or maintain being acliv4 whilst creatin8 local
relationships that encourage inclusion and sUp￿rL
During 2021 we have been running activities where there is 8n immediat¢ need. This includes ch&ir-
based exercise sessions for those individuals who need to feel more confidenl about their mobility and
the Wellbeing Journey. This ci)urse was onlin< based around k¢y areas of wellbein& which helps
people to diS￿Ver a balance in life. We have also supp)rted I(￿1 charities in the distribution of food
for their food banks and we ran a couple of summer activities for thildren who would ordinarily not
be about to attend such activities duc to fllwicial CQDstraints.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMAIYCE
o W¢¢kly exercise cl&sses for the elderly with average attendance of15 a week (wh¢n in person
sessions were ￿MIltted).
Working with social prescribers to establish peer supp)rt grou￿ activity sessions and cafes for
those marginalised in our community. taking place 5 days a week.
Over 50 food parcels wer¢ d¢livered to thos¢ most in need.
Work with 60 elderly people a week and 20 youth a week.

physical and mental health.

The Trustees have prepared accounts for Activale in accordance with the requirements of the SORP.
From Mawh 2020 until Activate SI￿5 Ministy was registered with the Charity commissio￿ two
Teddington church¢s- St Marys with St Albans (SMWSA) and St Peter and St Paul (SPSP)- enabled
the activities of the Charity by managing a restricted fund for income and expenditure relating to the
Activate project. "rh¢ Tn￿tr¢S are grateful for this support. Appendix I to this report provides
financial information which reflects th¢ ￿11 ¢xtent of Activate's financial transactions for the period
since April 2020 to 31° December 2021. Once Activate wss registered. re5tdual funds held by
SMWSA and SPSP were passed over to the Charity.
Review of the period
Activate received income of £44,931 of which £20.180 was restricted. Expenditure was £19,104
leaving a nel surplus of £25.827. Of thi& at 31# D¢ttmb¢r 2021. £15,923 was hcld in restricted funds
and £9,904 in general funds.
Incorporating the transactions proce&8ed via SMWSA and SPSP the incom¢ r¢c¢iv¢d for proje¢ts
undertaken by Activate during 2020 and 2021 w&s £65.492 with &$S￿lated expenditure of £40,166
Income Expenditure
Activate relies on donations from grant making truMs. lo¢al churche& the DIC￿eSe of London and
individuals. To date the majority of income has t*en from grant making tNsts including The National
Lottery Fund, Hampton Wick United Chartty, One Rithmond. the LA)ndon Borough of Richmond
upon Thames and Places called Home.
Fundraising was undertaken voluntsrily by the Trustees so there were no costs attributed to this work.
Expenditure comprises staff costs, direct activity costs and indir￿1 costs which c￿ble the charithble
activities to tske place. Two youth interns hav¢ workryi with Activat¢ to date.
The Trnstees are grateful to the Diocese of tA)ndon for providing th¢ Pioneer Sports Minister to
enabling this pilot sports project.
Rejerves policy and balance sheet
The Charity does not intend to accumulate significant reserves but the Trustees aim to keep 3 to 6
month5 programme eX￿nditUre in unrestricted reserves (General fund) to ensure that funding can
continue reliably without intemipting delivery whilst fimdrdising continues.
Monthly general fund rnnning costs of the progrdrnme in 2022 are forecast at £2,300. The General
fund of £9,904 at the peri(xJ*nd represents just over 4 months projected running costs.
Restricted funds were held at the year-end for S￿lfIC projects: £15.017 towards a vari¢ty of youth
projects and £906 toward5 IT and activity s¢t up costs.

For 2022. we are focussing our activities into 3 key areas-. Wellbeing Hub& Church and Youth.
W¢llbeing Hubs rcpresent Activate's weekly mi&sion engagernenL incorw)rating the work of
ial prescription and creating a 5 day a week outreach programme, that is activiry focused
but also anchored by a daily act of worship.
Sports Church is Activale's Sunday pmvision and is f(Kuss¢d on the whole family. allowing
time to engage in an a¢t of Worship. whilst tsking part in fun inclusive swrting activities.
Activate's youth provision is currently focussed on a martial arts provision which helps young
people lo increase their self-confidence and build their mental and physica] wellbeing. We
will also be developing a youth café, following the SU￿¢sS of the Community Café.

I report to the trustees on my ¢xamin&tion of the accounts of the Activatr Sports Ministy (the
Charity) for the periijd ended 31 D¢¢emt*r 21r21.
Responsibilities basis of rew)rt
As the charity trustees of the Charity you ar¢ ￿spOnSible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {the Act). I report in respect of my
examination of the Chartty's accounts ca￿led out under seLtion 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying
out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
und¢r s¢ction 145(5Xb) of the Act.

¢onnection with the examination giving me lo ixlievc that in any material reSp￿t..
