The Charlty Is part of Llons Clubs Internatlonal Multlple Di5trltt 105 (Llons MDI 05)
whlch cover5 the Brltlsh Isles. The Club was fomied on l st Aprll 1969 as the Llons Club
of Bletchley and achleved Charltable Trust status (Bletchley Llons Club Charlty Trust
Fund 279584) on 14th Aprll 1980. The Club became registered as a Charltable
Incorporated Organlsatlon on I llh March 2021 as the Bletchley Mllton Keynes Llons Club
(CIO), reglstratlon number l 193777.
As a Llons Club our purpose Is to "serrfe local communltle5' and Llons, prlnclples to
whlch the club must adhere Include "actlng to beneflt the publlc Interest".
The Club's objectlves Include:
Advancement of cltlzenshlp
Promotlng the Voluntary Sector for the publlc beneflt
Promotlng volunteering
Rellef of poverty and relief of those In need
Advancement of health
Environment
Healthy recreatlon

The Club ralses funds each year to enable It to provlde grants to deservlng causes wlthln
Milton Keynes, and the immediately surrounding areas which form part of Aylesbury
Vale. Central Bedfordshire and Bucklngham are generally glven a prlorlty, as well as
natlonally and overseas via Llons Club Internatlonal. Grants are made in accordance wlth
the Club's grant making policy.
Since re9lstration as a CIO, the Trustees have paid regard to the Charity Commlsslon's
guidance on publlc beneflt in dealing with the objectives and activities of the Club.
The club relles on the surpluses generated from fund ralslng events and donatlons from
the public to provide the funds Wlth which to carry out Its duties. All admlnlstratlve
expenses of the Club are met from donations paid by its members. There has been no
change to these pollcles durlng the reportin9 perlod.
The work of the Club Is carrled out entlrely by volunteers. From time to time as
approprlate, the Club works closely wlth other local and natlonal agencles. other Llons
Clubs and Llons Club Internatlonal to achieve Its objectlves.
Management and Governance Arrangements
The Club Is governed by Its CIO documents, the Club's Constltutlon and By-laws and bv
the By Laws of Llons Clubs Internatlonal. The Trustees are appolnted as approprlate by
the members of the Club and have overall responslblllty to ensure that the Club
operates In accordance with charity law and the aforementloned Club documents. The
day to day runnlng of the Club Is overseen by the Club's offlcers, elected each year by
the members. All buslness Is ratlfled or otherwlse by members In general meetln9s held
once a month.
The Club Is ably supported by the volunteer servlces of Its members and others.
Fundralslng and Communlty Servlce Actlvltles up to 30th June 2024
Durlng the perlod endlng 30"June 2024 the actlvltles of the Club contlnued to be
Impacted by the lega￿ of Covld 19 and the economlc cllmate, wlth a gradual
resumptlon of traditional fundralsing actNlties. Actlvltles durln9 the year Included
collectlons at local supermarket5, a Qulz Nlght, Autumn 88Q and raffles for Easter Eggs
and Xmas Hampers. The Club's members and others, also continued to attively support
the day-to-day operatlons of a large Covld Vaccinatlon Centre, albeit at a reduced level
of activlty from the prevlous year but stlll generatlng an Income to the Club of over
£4,000 durlng the year. The charlty funds also benefitted from a £500 donatlon from
the Club's monthly prlze draw
Communlty attfvitles such as tendlng therapy gardens at the local hospital and care
homes were once agaln undenaken during the period, involving prlncipally members,
tlme supported by small grants to enhance facilities. The Club also supported a local
care home by arranglng and fundlng entertainment for residents
The Club made donations totallSng clrca £8,000 to 25 causes and Indlvlduals durlng the
vear.

It is the pollcy of the Club to maintain unrestritted funds only to the extent that they are
expected to be requlred wlthln the foreseeable future to meet the objective5 of the Club.
The level of unrestricted funds is reviewed periodically.
The Trustees have considered the major risks to which the Club Is exposed to satlsfy
themselves that systems are Sn place to mltigate those risks.
8. Recelpts and Payments Accounts for 81etchley Mllton Keynes Llons Club (CIO)
The recelpts and payment account Informatlon presented below Is taken from the
Charlty Commlsslon pro - forma for recelpts and payments accounts and It provldes the
recommended format for the presentation of such accounts and therefore meets the
requlrements of the Charlty Commlssion. The pr(kforma Is deslgned to meet the
mlnimum recommended level of accountabillty.
Recelpts and payment accounts are statements that summarlse the movement of cash
Into and out of the charity durlng the financlal year. In thls context "cash" Includes cash
equlvalents, for example bank current and other cash accounts Into whlch money Is
banked or used to make payments. It Is generally accepted that recelpts and payments
accounts should not report all Indlvldual recelpts and payments these are recorded In
the Club's ledger from which thls summary Informatlon Is drawn.
These flnanclal statements are prepared In GBP Sterllng, rounded to the nearest pound
whlch 55 the functlonal currenry of the Club. Bletchley Mllton Keynes Llons Club meets
the definltion of a publlc entity under FRSI 02. The Trustees consider that there are no
materlal uncertalntles about the Club's ablllty to contlnue as a golng concern.
Recelpts, Includlng fundralslng and donatlons, are recognlsed when there Is entltlement
and certainty of recelpt and the amount can be assured with sufflclent rellabllity.
Fund ralslng Income and members, contrlbutlons are recognlsed when they are
recelved.
Payments are recognlsed when a Ilabillty Incurred:
Costs of fundralslng events, hlre of rooms and webslte and publlclty are those
Incurred In runnlng fundraising events and attratting donatlons.
Donations made represent the donatlons and grants made In furtherlng the
objectlves of the Club.

The charlty current account comprises both defined restricted funds and funds ralsed and
donations recelved which have not been restricted by the donors or desl8nated by the Trustees
for a particular use. The Trustees are entitled to allocate such unrestricted funds as they See fit
towards the objertives of the Club.

The Administratlon cur￿nt account funds are raised by contributions from members and club
raffles and are for the use in the administration of the Club in accordance wlth the Club's
Constltution. No funds raised from the publlc may be used for Club administration.
