Objertives and Artivities Summary of the objects of This chartty njns a playgroLtp for pre school children in and around the the charity set out in its Pontrhydfendigaid area. It raises money to buy equipment and finance governing document activities within the playgroup and pay staff to run it. To advance the education of preschool children through the medium of the Welsh language. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objerts Cylch Meithrin Pontrhydfendigaid runs a nursery Icylchl for up to 16 pre- school children aged two years to school age during the school term. We are 3 small friendly nursery offering a happy, safe, stimulating and exciting environment nurturing children's development. Each child's learning is supported and encour38ed at their own pace. The Cylch operates accordin8 to the principles of Planning in the Moment for pre-school children. The areas of focus are numeracy. literacy, and digital competence as well as physical. wellbein& exploration, communication and belonging. We provide 3 wide variety of attivities and play experiences thai enable them to develop to their full potentlal. We re an inclusive setting which is open to all children of the requisite age In Pontrhydfendigaid, Cere(Jigion and the Surrounding area. The Cylch rents facilities within Pèntyfedwen village hall,. a classroom including two toilets and sinks and a secure outdoor play area, plus with access to and use of a kitchen. The Cylch is registered with Care Inspectorate of Wales ICIWI IW16000030411 and Estyn: Her Majesty's Inspectorate For Education And Training In Wales. The Cylch raises money to pay staff and rent, buy equipment and finance activities within the playgroup. We receive funding for two. three and four year olds and also provide places for children on a paid basis who do not qualify for funding. Fundraising activities are organised throughout the year to subsidise the running costs of the Cylch. Achievements and Perfomiance Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity's work ha5 made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. The Cylch is open for up to 16 number two, three and four year old every week day in tem) time, from 8=30am to 3=45pm. The period between 9=OOam and 11..30am remain5 the m05t popular when some two year olds plus all three and four year olds are funded by the local authority for up to 12.5 and 10 hours respectively a week. Some three and four year olds receive an additional 20 funded hours depending on parentslguardians meeting criteria. The Cylch is also registered to receive Tax free childcare payments for eligible parents. The Cylch employs two full time member of staff lone was on maternity leave from April to December 20241 and three part time assistants. During the year a part time admin assistant also joined the team. Bank staff are called as required Ipart time staff a150 work a5 bank staff). The staff work closely with the trustees and committee to ensure the efficiency and smooth running of the Cylch. In December 2022 the Cylch was inspected by CIW and Estyn and received an outstanding report. As Cylch Meithrin Pontrhydfendigaid has made such an impression on Estyn. the Cylch is now being used as an example of effective practice on the 'external area to improve children's skills, section on the website. Grants from the education department and Mudiad Meithrin are provided on a case by case basis for children who require additional support Iflnancial and other eg speech and languagel, the Cylch received Support for one child during the year. The Cylch received five grants from Flying start, healthy preschool, Ceredigion council and Blakemore foundation trainin& for wellbeing materials and assistance with rent and staff wages. The Cylch is an asset to the local area and the community, brinBing local people together through fundraising events antl involvin8 the young generation of children and their families in community events. ri-a-fi ha5 not run during the past year due to the lack of parents and interest. 3.
