Aims and Objectives:
Our charity purpose as set out in the objects contained in the company memorandum of associations are to:
Advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statement of faith appearing in the schedule in such a way whereas the Trustees from time to time may think fit anywhere in the world.
Believing our aims and objective:
We carry out a review of our aims and objectives yearly to ensure we are doing what we say we are doing in-terms of delivery. Our review looks at what we have done in the previous financial year and what achievement we have succeeded in delivering some of our objectives.
Evidently, we deliver them on a yearly basis, whereby we follow all the rules of the charity Commission guidelines by ensuring that our aims and objectives are delivered on public benefit.
In the year 2022 we plan to launch our foodbank programme and counselling service to the local communities whereby we give counselling guidance and advice to those who are less fortunate. It was a difficult year as we had to readjust how we deliver and meet the objectives as the pandemic which has affected many families’ eases. This meant we had to move some of our service on zoom and Facebook.
Our activities between 09/03 2021 -31/07/2022
Organisation Activities:
Counselling Session for those who are broken and in need of help Guidance and advice. This scheme is intended to provide as much guidance and counselling to many who have suicidal thoughts, those in broken marriage and children who are affected by deformity in the home. This service is free to all and no cost to the public.
This project will have a greater potential for improving the lives and wellbeing of those in need of our free service. It will help to address problems related to psychological, mental and emotional needs.
We also have our food bank which is currently funded by the church and also through voluntary giving of food items for the benefit of the local communities. This scheme is intended to provide a longer-term life-line food initiative beyond existing food-bank facilities; and is available on an all -inclusive basis at no cost to the public.
The project is designed to support homelessness and social exclusion in the South Bristol communities by using the medium of in date food to improve the lives of the most socially excluded, and to promote a more inclusive community. Our second phase plan is to extend the life-line service to other deprived and socially exclusive communities in and out of Bristol.
How we are organised:
We have a service centre where we work from. We are currently in talk with other churches to build a network of working together to alleviate poverty in and around our community. It is also our policy to support other
charities and to create an emergency system where we will be able to provide food provision to those in need and at short notice.
The need for the project:
The need for this project and service to the community is evident as shown by the fact that these communities are classified as struggling with depravation due to economic instability and high unemployment.
Grassroots Participation:
We have succeeded in working with the broader community representation into the initial planning process by working through community-based collaboration, forums, meetings and through social media platforms. This is to ensure the project reflects the need and priorities of those intended to benefit from it.
Our enterprising activities:
New Birth Ministry is a company limited by guarantee with a charitable status. It consists of two arms – the charitable arm, which enables us to apply to different funders for charitable and community projects, and the ministry which provides religious service on a weekly basis. Both arms are over seen by a board of trustees and director within the church community.
What we do:
New Birth Ministry currently operate a foodbank project that delivers good quality surplus food to the ministry charity group working with the homeless and socially exclusive groups in the communities currently, we do not receive any external funding to support this project but we are in the process of applying for funding to help meet the needs of this project. We are looking to launch a free grocery delivery service to support the elderly and those who are incapacitated and vulnerable.
Volunteers:
We have good and great people in the community who have been supporting the work that we are doing in the church. Some of them have been supporting with their skill-set to support the leadership of the church.
