A wide range of activities are undertaken under the banner of Beacon Church Hebden Bridge to carry out its objectives; to provide opportunity for people, whether they are already part of the faith or those seeking to discover more, to express or explore devotion through Evangelical Christian worship and engage in discipleship and training to deepen their understanding of Christianity. To raise awareness and understanding of Evangelical Christianity through teaching, friendship, fellowship, community service and outreach work. To serve the local community by the promotion of spiritual welfare through the practical expression of Evangelical Christianity: fellowship, friendship, mutual support and practical help (depending on circumstances and specific need). These include Sunday Services as an expression of Christian worship; There is regular teaching and training in the Christian faith and opportunities for believers to express their spiritual nature through prayer and service, and live out their faith in practical ways as we serve those in our community. ## **2 Public Benefit** The Trustees consider that the objectives as described above fulfil the requirements of the Charity Commission's public benefit disclosure. ## **3 Structure, governance and management** Formerly, Beacon Church Hebden Bridge had operated as an unregistered charity. It was resolved by the Trustees of the unregistered trust to be in the interests of the Charity to form a CIO and transfer the assets and activities that new entity. On 20 July the Charity Commission authorised the transfer of assets formerly held by the unregistered charity known as Mount Zion Baptist Chapel (Evangelical) to Beacon Church Hebden Bridge. The Charity is registered with the Charity Commission For England and Wales, number 1193732, and is constituted as a CIO under a constitution dated 8 March 2021. The Trustees who served during the year were: Benjamin Oliver (Appointed 15th February 2021) Cheryl Clarke (Appointed 15th February 2021) Pauline Hogarth (Appointed 15th February 2021) The Church is a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC). ## **4 Financial review** A total of £127,000 was transferred from Mount Zion Baptist Chapel (Evangelical). Income for the period amounted to £14,527 and expenditure £28,501 leading to a deficit for the period of £13,974. Total funds at the year end were £113,026, of which £1,532 were restricted. I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## **Independent examiner’s statement** I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: - (1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or - (2) the accounts do not accord with those records. **113,026**| - **3 Trustee and Related Party Transactions** Trustee, Mr B Oliver, was employed as the Church's Pastor. During the year he received a salary of £22,919 and the Church made contributions into a pension scheme of £516. Other than as disclosed above, none of the Trustees received any remuneration or were re-imbursed any out of pocket expenses during the year. Donations by Trustees in the period were £1,721.
