Summary ol the maln acllvllle8 undertaken for the public bon•fft Grow Together runs two weekly food growing and gardening clubs for people In Leicester at Graceworks Communlty Gardens. The￿ Is an active group of 20 to 30 people who engage with activities. The clubs and workshops have been tailored to the range of néeds and ablllties withln the community. The sessions have included advlce and training on sustsining the soil, planting, growing, composting and preparing food. Voluntsers have developed a thrivlng community garden, They grow and nurture a wide range of fruit, vegetables and pollinatlng plants. The produce grown is used at the communlty garden and in the wider communty. Grow Together reaches out into the wider communlty and has developed and maintslns growlng spaces at Downlng Drlve, Evlngton Vlllage G￿n, the Village Hall, Horston Hlll, Spencefield Drive and the Graceworks Community Garden.. All these 8ite8 are part of the Royal Horticultural Society'8 It's Your NeSghbourhood Scheme. The campaign encourage8 the communlty to come together and make their neighbourhood a cleaner and greener place to Ilve. Team8 of volunteers plant up local beds, tubs and Iroughs with po15inators and floral di8plays. Along8lde this the group carry out regular Iltter pick8 in the local area, Grow Together h88 partnered with Communty of Grace and the Evington Orchard Group to put on a number of public events during the year. This has included plant sales and an apple pressing day. These activities have been great events to brirKJ the community together as well as generating income for the charty. Alongside the food growing. the charity has worked in partnership with Communty of Grace and the Orchard Group charities to provide fresh food for vulnerable and isolated member8 of our community. The food that is grown is used to prepare meals the communty centre for people who are18olated or vulnerable and also given out in packs that are dellvered to people who are in need within LeI￿ster. Surplus plants from the gardeniNJ activities were sold at a local plant sale to raise money for the charity.
