Section D Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

In August, we recruited Laura Dale-Harris, as Executive Director and first member of staff. With her experience making the case for and establishing new initiatives at the intersection of healthcare, innovation and social impact, she is well positioned to lead our efforts, create the organisation, establish its core functions and lead it through the early years from start-up to a hub of expertise on innovation and excellence in children’s palliative care. In October, we presented our inaugural research report at an event alongside Imperial College’s Institute of Global Health Innovation, to an engaged audience of over 100 experts in the field. Our report received positive coverage in the media and sparked interviews and invitations to share our findings more widely, including being asked to give the first guest to the new US national centre for paediatric palliative care homes in November. We were invited to participate to a three-year programme in Kenya focused on increased access to palliative care for children, an indication of our growing potential for impact. In January, we formalised ways of working through a partnership agreement with the International Children’s Palliative Care Network, aligning our organisation with key players in the field. While still early days, Global Treehouse Foundation has made promising progress in establishing our reputation, building critical partnerships, and generating interest in our approach to improving children’s palliative care. We look forward to building these foundations in the months and year ahead.

## **Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Global Treehouse Foundation**

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31[st] December 2022 which are set out on pages 9 to 10.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
