In recent years. one of the Charlty's key challenges has been attractlng
sufflclènt volunteers wth the approprlate skllls, experience and
commitment to serve a5 tsustees. Following a comprehensive governanr
review, and after ¢on$ullation with the Charity Commi&8ion and obtaining
independent legal advice. the trustees approved amendments lo the
Charitys Constitution.

of 5Urtably qualified vrAunteers.
The trustees also reviewed the Charity's membership arrangements to
encourage adive partI￿patiOn in the governance of th8 Charity. The
revised C¢)nstitutr'on now provides that members fail to attènd two
COn5ecutive m8mbers' meetings hMII have their membership lapse.

Trusteos: Most trustees are well-acquainted wSth the daY-t￿daY
operations of the charity. Each new trustee ￿ceiVe5 support and
rnèntorship from more experienced member5, facililatr'ng the charity'5
natural devèlopment and evolution. A designated trustee enhances their
govemance knowledge by participating in Charty Commission webinars,
subsequentfy sharing best pradices with fellow trustees. Additionally,

advance the &kh religion in alignment with the teathings of the Guru Granth
Sahib. To achieve this, the charity is d&Jicated to managing and maintaining

Proied in India by sponsoring th8 education of vulnerable and disadvantaged

The ¢h8rity's volunteer Giani {Priest) delivers weekly Kirtan and harrnonium
lessons for children and young p80ple. These sessions develop musical
ability vthlle encouraging spirttual leaming and active participation in Sikh

Educats Punjab Profv¢t
As part of it8 continuing inlemational outreath. the charity has. for several
years. supported the Educate Punjab Project in India. The initiative provides
educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged families who would
otherwise be unable to access even basic Sch￿ring. The charity currently
Sponsors thé education of three thlhj￿n and remains committed to making a
meaningfvl difference to the lives of thos8 less fortunate through this ongoing
partnership.

A free weekly exercise dass is probided for women of all ages, partscularly
those who may not Othe￿Se have acces5 to organised physical activity. Led
by a dedicated volunteer, the sessions offer low-Thpact 8xercise that

Mentsl Health Initiatlv
Working in Partne￿hIp with Equallty Action, the charity hosted a ten-week
Men's Wellbeing Café. The programm8 provided a saf8 and welcoming
environmenl where men from the wider community cLMJld mèet, discuss
challenges. p8rticipale In wellbeing acllvtliés and bulld supportive
relalion5hips, helping to reduce isolation and promote positive mental health.
Wom•n's Wallbolng Group
Thè charity also providés a weekly w￿en,5 Wellbein9 Group, led by a
dedicatèd volunteer. The sessions incorporate moderate ex8rcise d85ign8d to
reduce stress, improve flexibitsty, strength and overall wellbeing. In addition to
the physical health benefits, the gyoup offers a welcorning and supportive
env5ronment where partlclpants can soclallse. bulld frlendshlps and reduce
feelings of lsdallm, ¢ontrfbutlng posrlSvety tct thelr mental and emotlonal
wellbeing.
L•gg0 Youth Group
For the sixth consecutive year. the Lc4Jghborough Leggo Youth Group has
operdted from th8 Sikh Community Centre. Th8 programme provide$
structured physical, educ8tion81 and social actNities frx young people,
promoting confidence, learnwork and p8rsonal developmenL Initlally funded
by 88C Children in Nead and the local authority, the project is now fvlly
suppJrt8d by Midshires Catering.
Communlty Engag•m•nt and Partnershlp Worklng
During the rep￿Ing pericmy, the charity's Communty Centre hosted an NHS
communty consultsllon progr8mm8 almed at improving access to mental
h8ath sefvices for older adutts. The consunation 9athered the view8 and
experiences of members of hard-toknreach communities to help inform the
lulure design and deliv8ry of $8Thices. The ch8nty was pleased lo support thls
Important Inftialfve. wlth a follow-up consultstion planned for October 2026.
Panj Radlo
During the year. the chaiity became 8ffi1i8ted Panj Radio, a DAB digital
radio Stati￿ swving L0ughb￿ugh and the surrounding areas. ThSs
partnership provides an addttion81 plalform to promote Sikh values, publ￿tSe
cornmunty events arKI engage with a wlder audience, helping to strengthen
communty ¢xJnnections and raise awareness of the charitys actiwties.
