**For the public benefit; the prevention, or relief of financial hardship among people living within, but not exclusively the Wakefield area. This will be achieved by providing new parents & families with babies and young children essential items of clothing, toys and equipment to which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means.**

In planning our activities during the year, the Trustees have considered the Charity Commissions Guidance on public benefit.
The number of referrals continued to increase during the reporting dates of January 2023 to December 2023. This mainly consisted of referrals from health/social professionals and other agencies, whilst also helping with some private referrals from individuals.
**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**
We have continued to see a rise in the referral rate and assisted where possible with the delivery of support packages to families dealing with hardship and poverty.
The families we supported came from diverse backgrounds including victims of domestic abuse, families experiencing homelessness and families seeking asylum or refugee status to name a few.
We ran a successful campaign in Nov/December 2023 to provide Christmas presents to children who due to financial hardship within their families may not have received any gifts for Christmas.
As a charity, we have continued to try to find ways to reach more families and work collaboratively with other agencies/Charities.
Working alongside other charities and organisations, we have managed to maintain our minimal landfill objective and promote environmental sustainability through our use of preloved items.

- Continued to support families.
- Increased the age range of clothes and equipment that we stock.
- Increased the range of professionals/agencies using our service.

- Engaged with more volunteers.
- Provision of Christmas presents to children that due to financial hardship may not have got anything for Christmas.
- Acted as a signposting service for a variety of professionals.
