Objectives and Activities

Para 1.17 and 1.19	We provide mental health support for people in the Stockport area who are suffering and recovering from a range of mental health problems. We offer a range of social, therapeutic, leisure, volunteering opportunities/activities that take place in mental health community settings and throughout the wider community recognising individuality and support people on their recovery journey.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	After a significant increase in numbers of people accessing our service since the COVID-19 pandemic we have continued to deliver a community focused outreach service for people with serious mental health issues taking a community-based approach that is fully inclusive regardless of condition, diagnosis or circumstance, in other words a person-centred approach to wellbeing and recovery. We have progressed with our joined-up partnership working approach to enable us not to duplicate other service offers. We are able to meet some very diverse and complex needs within the local community. The benefit to the public is that we are able to support more individuals becoming non-dependent on statutory organisations, a reduction in attendances to the Accident and Emergency departments, enabling people to be embedded within their own communities giving them better life choices and life chances particularly around people with dual diagnosis where there has been also a problematic misuse of alcohol.

Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held	Para 1.22	The balance held in unrestricted reserves at 31st of March 2023 was £20,000 all of which are free reserves after allowing for funds tied up in

		tangible fixed assets. The trustees aim to maintain free reserves in unrestricted funds at a level which equates to approximately three months of unrestricted charitable expenditure. The trustees consider that this level will provide sufficient funds to respond to applications for grants and ensure that support and governance costs are covered. The Charity’s main source of income is grants and donations. The trustees consider that it is appropriate to prepare the accounts on a going concern basis and, consequently, the accounts do not include any adjustments that would be necessary if these sources of income should cease.
