Review of activities and achievements
This year, members agreed to set up a Mosque Fund towards the purchase of a building, initial target of £180,000 was set and members encouraged to contribute towards achieving the target.
The charity continues to hold its weekly and quarterly prayer meetings. Prayers and other Islamic activities during this year’s Ramadan was another success, various Islamic scholars delivered uplifting and educative lectures to members and guests from the community. Members celebrated both Eid Fitr and Eid Adha with family, friends and the community at large. We organised a service celebrating the birth of our prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon on him, to whom the Qur’an was revealed.
During the year, our charity donation includes financial support provided to twenty-three families through Zakat Fitr programme.
In November, we organised a two-day event to mark the centenary celebration of Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria. The event featured a Dinner/Merit award for members and community leaders who have contributed to the advancement of Islamic teachings, and Thanksgiving service. Over 200 hundred guests attended the two-day event.
