Introduction

The Great Mission for Kenya is a CIO, registered on 16th Feb 2021.

The objectives of the CIO are as follows:

  1. The prevention or relief of poverty, either generally or individually, of people living in Kenya by providing grants and items and services to individuals in need and/or charities or such other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty;

  2. The advancement of education in particular (but without limitation) by providing financial and other forms of support for children and young adults in Kenya;

  3. The relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people residing permanently or temporarily in Kenya; and

  4. The advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement of Faith.

Review of the period and public benefit statement

The CIO was registered on 16th Feb 2021, therefore the first report and accounts were for a first 13.5 month period. The current accounts are for the year ended 31 March 2023. During the 12 months ended 31 March 2023 £9555 was sent to Kenya in line with the objects above.

Reserves policy

The CIO holds enough in reserve to cover incidental administration costs. All other reserves can be spent as and when required because the CIO has no salaries or overheads to cover. This policy will be reviewed should the CIO start to incur any fixed costs.

As a not for profit charity, The Great Mission for Kenya will distribute all of its income in line with its above objects, notwithstanding that in any particular accounting period a temporary surplus or deficit may be recorded.

Risk assessment

The trustees are satisfied that adequate consideration has been given to the major risks that the charity is exposed to and the likelihood of these risks occurring.
