About:

The Natalie Kate Moss Trust was set up in 2012 by the Moss family after the sudden death of Natalie at the age of 26 from a Brain Haemorrhage. The trust supports, and generates funds for, groundbreaking research into the prevention and treatment of brain haemorrhages at Manchester University.

Unfortunately, regarding brain haemorrhage research, very little has changed over the last few decades, in contrast to many other conditions. Within one month only one out of five patients will survive after intracerebral haemorrhage, with two out of five patients surviving at 5 years, a statistic that has not changed in 40 years. In contrast breast cancer survival has doubled in that same period, with four out of five patients surviving at 10 years. We therefore desperately need a breakthrough to improve outcomes after intracerebral haemorrhage.

How it is run:

The Charity is run on a day-to-day basis by the Trustees and the Fundraising Manager to strategically work to fulfil two main objectives of the charity:

• Generating funds to support the research at Manchester University

• Creating awareness around the devasting impact of brain haemorrhages

The Charity looks to work in collaboration with Manchester University and other companies (e.g. principal sponsors), where appropriate, to fulfil these objectives.
