Annual Report of Trustees Petersfield Area Community Trust Charitable Incorporated Organization Reg. No. 1193529 Report for 1[st] April 2024 to 31[st] Match 2025

We trained more volunteers in first aid and updated key volunteers.

Regular Events at the Mill Road Community Centre

Petersfield Pickles has continued to run, attracting help from a rolling set of volunteers under leadership of XXXX and Laura. We continue to be regarded as the best group in town and did not raise the donation level during this period.

We continue to have excellent cake and excellent support for dietary intolerances and allergies for all events.

Coffee Mornings ran throughout the year, but are quiet, and MRCC is not an ideal venue.

Craft and Board Game nights have continued and are often close to covering costs. They continue and gradually build.

We have now started a “Messy Play” session which has spun off from Petersfield Pickles, on Fridays. After initial ideas the naming is settled as “Messy Pickles”. We still only ask a low donation cost. This has immediately taken off, and while not as regularly full as Pickles itself, volunteers enjoy running it and it’s very successful.

For most events, we retain the principle that the payment we request is a donation. In a number of cases we waive this or don’t go to an effort to request it; as a community group working with the same people each week, we believe we have a good understanding of when this is appropriate.

One-Off & Annual Events

Mill Road Winter Fair was less successful in 2024 – the event was cancelled – but we still opened despite the bad weather, for reduced hours. The response was excellent and we were very busy and made some good income to help fund our other events (despite keeping prices very low and being very generous with cake etc.)

Communication

We continue to operate www.pactCambridge.org and google email accounts.

Events are also advertised on our 4 noticeboards and at the centre.

We continue to use MailChimp for mailing and membership management.

Petersfield Area Community Facilties

Mill Road Library – the saga of the sale of this continues, with a possible non-community buyer but the situation not seeming to proceed.

St Matthew’s Piece has resisted attempts on its trees and benefits from the attention of the Friends of St Matthew’s Piece.

Treasurer’s Report

Accounts for 2024-2025 are available. We have been able to run on a “donation” basis for the most part and, helped by the success of Petersfield Pickles (which at £2/family suggested is still the cheapest toddler group we know). We are on a downward trend (although invoice dates mean the accounts look more positive) but have strategies to make this sustainable going forward.
