Manea Pre-School Annual report – 2026.
Manea Pre-School continues to serve the community of Manea, a growing village in the Cambridgeshire Fens. The Pre-School is physically located within Manea Community Primary School and is managed by the Governors of the school.
It has been an exciting year for Pre-School with our numbers growing back up as predicted in last year’s annual report. Currently, we are open full time with all sessions filled apart from one. A particularly significant development has been the additional provision of funded “wrap around care” which is naturally a popular option for working parents. There is extensive local development taking place and we expect the numbers to keep growing as the new houses are built and become occupied.
The Pre-School enjoys an excellent reputation within the village and we were particularly encouraged that the local Tesco store selected us for their blue token scheme. This raised £500 which has so far been used to provide sensory spaces which are available for all the children to use.
Staffing remains stable and all colleagues are part of the wider Primary School staff and work hard to ensure a smooth transition to Primary School can take place. However, having a place at Pre-School does not automatically guarantee a school place at Manea Community Primary School. The experienced and qualified staff team continue to provide rich, varied, stimulating, imaginative and cross curricular experiences for all the children while taking in to account every child’s individual needs.
Manea Primary School is responsible for all aspects of the Pre-School finances and adheres to all the policies and procedures specified by the Local Authority. Regular financial checks and audits are undertaken by Governors and the Local Authorities finance team.

Audit arrangements
Manea Pre-school accounts form part of the wider Manea Community Primary school accounts. The Pre-school has a separately identifiable set of accounts within the whole school accounts. As a Local Authority school all accounts and procedures are routinely inspected and audited each year. There were no items or areas of concern raised during the year.
