Union Romani Voice is the first Roma organisalion in IpswichlSuffolk- Great
Britain, it is representative by Roma Professionals from the Roma community,
aiming lo empower the Roma community to challenge discrimination, exercise
their rights, integrate into UK society, and fulfil their potential.

The purposes of the CIO which are for the public benefit, are specifically
restricted to the following..
The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit and in
particular the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race by
educating and raising awareness of the public in the UK about the Roma
community by arts, culture and heritage to facilitate good community
relations and underslanding, especially within the public sector.
The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability,
financial hardship or other disadvantage from the Roma community who
are resident or who are intending to reside in the UK by..
Providing free and confidential advice, assistance, and representation on
access to public services
Increasing, or co-ordinating, opportunities for members of the Roma
community to engage with Se￿ice providers, lo enable those providers
to adapt services to better meet the needs of that community
Developing programs in the fields of education, health, drug addiction,
employment, equal opportunities, as well as in all areas that contribute
to improving the living conditions of the Roma community
The advancement of education by the management and maintenance
of a heritage centre and exhibition gallery lo promote the Roma arts,
culture and heritage.

FREE Information, Advice, Guidance and Advocacy on Immigration, Housing,
Benefits, Debt, EUSS, Visa, Rights in the UK, Employment, Educalion, Health,
Wellbeing, Family Counselling, Clime Change which helped to tackle an
individual's practical needs and barriers while ensuring a feeling of safety and
secure.
In the Roma community drop-in sessions are a very effective lool to teach
clients how to be self-independent and to share and learn from each other within
the communily. It is important lo show appreciation and support we have for our
clients and a good example was our well-being fair with great music, advice, and
food with great feedback from our service users. The drop-in sessions also give
space to socialise with other clients and provide a safe Spa￿ for everyone within
the community.

When we supported someone, we have a track their progress lo ensure their
needs are being addressed. Union Romani Voice work together with the
people we support to understand the challenges they may be experiencing and
agree, and we help them to find a way to overcome them. We keep writing on
paper and electronic records or case files of each person we are supporting,
Roma people gain the skills to become more independent citizens in
Ipswichlsuffolk. We witnessed a reduction in 'chronic' cases. Those individualsl
families that were coming to URV intensively {3-4 times a week) for support.
O English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOLI
Union Romani Voice offered 3 lime perwe6k free English class for adults, 2 time
in Community Action Suffolk and 1 time in Bethesda Church in IpswiGh. Each
class we have between 15-20 students.
Free English language education, skills development m8nlorships, employmenl
and community integration support for seeking asylum and for ethnic minority
groups. Union Romani provide skills development so that people can find
employment and integrate successfully.
ESOL Class started September 2023, the class is delivery by Roma teacher
15-20 studenls each class session
Age between 19-64 years old
English class sessions each session 2 hours
Writing, reading, listening, games, dictation, asking questions

Also, we lead to longer-temi ESOL CLASS to helps people learn new skills, build
their confidence and support them into employment.
Union Romani Voice delivering serviGes which strengthen their immediate
financial circumstances and then support them to achieve their
employmenucareer aspirations and ambitions.
/ International Roma Day
This will be an annual event to celebrate International Roma Day and bring our
community together. We will invite other members of the community to attend
to learn and more about our culture.
8 April each year is International Romani Day takes place on April 8th every year,
celebrating Romani culture and raising awareness aboul Ihe issues faced by
Romani communities worldwide. Whether you're familiar with the day or hearing
about it for the first time, mark your calendars because it's a day filled with
cultural vibrancy and significance.
By promoting dialogue, cooperation between concerned stakeholders,
concerted efforts can be made to combat stereotypes, eradicate discrimination,
and create pathways for Roma empowerment and participation in decision-
making processes.
Romani people, also known as Roma, have a rich heritage spanning centuries,
yet they often face discrimination and marginalisation. International Romani Day
serves as a

stereotypes, and advocate for their rights. It's a day of solidarity and ￿lebratIon,
recognising the resilience and diversity within the Romani community.
