## **Objectives**

The objects of the CIO are:

- to promote and further the craft of beekeeping within the County of Hertfordshire.

- to advance the education of the public within the County of Hertfordshire in the importance of bees in the environment.

## **Activities**

Our activities in 2021, have necessarily been severely limited by the constraints imposed by government in response to Covid 19. Our training programme was changed so that we could complete the course online. Many of the events that we have traditionally attended were cancelled due to the pandemic restrictions, but we did continue to run our open apiary event which saw 150 members of the public visit our training apiary during the day. We were able to run our October 2021 Bee Awareness Session in person as restrictions were eased. We also were able to give several talks to community groups. The online recruitment for our 2022 training course was successful with all places being taken.

## **Governance**

The were no matters that needed any attention. The Trustees have delegated management of NHBKA to an Executive Committee which comprises most of the trustees plus function leads. We met 4 times during 2021.

## **Grants**

We gave a grant to Bees Abroad for £500.

## **Annual General Meeting**

The second AGM of NHBKA will take place on the 28[th] March 2023 at Mrs Howard Memorial Hall, Letchworth Garden City.
