The Iruslees present their annual report together with the financial slalemenls of the charity for the 1 April 2023
10 31 March 2024. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set
out in notes lo Ihtt accounts and comply with the ¢harily's Trust Deed, the Charities Act 2011 and the relevant
version of the Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicabla lo charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021.

The charitable objects of the charity are lo apply its income 2nd capital for the benefit of charitable object$ and

Achievgments and performance
a. Main achievements of the charlty
During the year, the charity made grants of £26,73012023.'£70.000}. Further details are set out in Note 5.

a, Golng concern
After making appropriate enquiries. the Iruslees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate
Tesources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason. they continue lo adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial slalemenls. Further details regarding the adoption of the going
concern basis can be found in the a¢¢ounling policies.
b. Resetvès policy
The charity is in ils early stage of activity since formation, Therefo￿ the Irusleeg, approach is to consider the
likely activitiès of th9 charity and determine an appropriate level of reserves. This approach will result in a
developed reserves policy in due course. The charity has r8seNes of £2.565,957. The Iruslees intend lo use the
funds for further giant-making activities.

c. Financial revlew of the perlod
The Slalemenl of financial activities sel out on page 6 of the financial statements shows how the charity's
incoming resources have been expended in the year ended 31 March 2024.
Total incoming resources amounted to £132,573 12023.. £581,161}, which comprised of donations of £3.300
{2023: £524,250) and interest income of £129.27312023.. £56,911).

Nel ¢urrenl assets amount lo £2,585,957 12023.. £2,464,687) which is represented by the unrestricted income
fund. The nel assets of the unreslricled income fund are lo be applied towards the charills grant making
activities and lo meet its ongoing overheads and adminislralive expenses.

Richard J Livingslone Charitable Trust is a registered charity. number 1193496, and is consliluled under a Trust
deed. The Charity was established by a conslilLJlional document on 11 February 2021. The address of the
principal office is 16 Great Queen Street , London, WC28 5AH.
b. Methods of appointment or electlon of Trustees
The management of the charity is the responsibility of the Iruslees who are elected and co-opted under the lemis
of the Trust deed.

I report lo the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 March
2024. This report is made solely lo the charity's Trusleos. as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Chaiilies
{Accounls and Reports) Regulations 2008. My work has been undertaken so that I might slate to the charity's
Trustees those mallers l am required lo slate lo them in an independent examiner's report and for no other
purpose. To the fullest extent permilled by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone olhar than the
chaiity and the charlly's frusiees as a body. for my work or for ihis report.

As the Trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 I'lhe 2011 A¢l'}.
I report in respect of my examination of the charity's accounts carried out under section 14S of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.

The financial statements are presènted in Sterling (£1, which is the functional currency of the charity.
Monetsry amounts in these financial statements ale rounded lo the nearest £.
Accounting policies
2.1 Basls of preparatlon of financial statements
The financial slalemenls have been prepared in accordance wlh the Charities SORP IFRS 1021
Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities
prepaiino their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard 8pplicsblÈ in thÈ UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} {effeclive 1 January 20191, the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and the Charities Act 2011.
The financial slalemenls have L)een prepared lo give a 'lrue and fair, view and have departed from
the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo the extent required lo provide a Irue
and fair, view. This departure has involved following the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 published in
nc.tnher ?019 rather than the AccoLinting snd Roporting by Charities.. Statem•nt of Ro¢ommond0d
Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
Richard J Livingslone Charitable Trust meets the definition of a public benefit enlily under FRS 102.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised al historical cost or Iransa¢lion valu8 unless otherwise
slated in the relevant accounting policy.
2.2 Goin9 tsoncern
After making appropiale enquiries, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has
adequate resources lo continue in opeialional existen￿ for the foreseeable future. For this reason.
they eonlinue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial slalemenls. Further details
regarding the adoption of the going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.
2.3 In¢omo
All income is recognised once the charity has enlillement lo the ineome. il is probable that the income
will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
2.4 Expènditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer Bconomic benefit
lo a third party. il is probable that a transfer of e¢onomi¢ benefits will be required in settlement and
the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expendiluie is classified by activily. The costs
of each activity are made up of the lolal of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs
involved in undertaking each aclivily. Direct costs allribulable lo a single activity are allocated directly
to that aclivily. Shared costs which conliibute ID more than one activity and support costs which are
not allribulable lo a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a basis consistent with
the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of lime spent, and depreciation
charges allocated on the portion of the ass81's use.
Expenditure on charitable activities is incurred on directly undertaking the activities which further the
charity's objectives, as well as any associated support C0518.

Grants payable are charged in the year when the offer is made except in those ¢ases where the offer
is conditional, such grants being recognised as expenditure when th8 conditions attaching are
fulfilled. Grants offered subject lo conditions which have not been met al the year end are noted as a
commitment, bul not accrued as expenditure.
All expenditure is inclLJsive of irrecoverable VAT.
2.5 Interest recelvable
Interest on funds held on deposit is included when receivable and the amount Can be measured
reliably by the charity.. this is normally upon nolilicalion of the interest paid or payable by the inslilulion
with whom the funds are deposited.
2.6 Cash at bank and In hand
Cash al bank and in hand includes cash with a short malurily of three months or less from the date of
acquisition or opening ol the deposit or similar account.
2.7 Llabllltles and provlslons
Liabilities are recognised when there is an obligation at the balance sheet date as a result of 8 past
event, il is piobable that a transfer of economic benefit will be required in selllement. and the amount
of the selllemenl can be eslimaled reliably.
Liabilities are recognised al the amount that the charity anlicipales il will pay to sellle the debl or the
amount il has received as advanced payments for the goods or seNi¢es il musl provide.
2.8 Fund accountlng
General funds are unreslricled funds which are available for use al the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance ol the general objectives of the charity and which hav8 not been designated for other
purposes.
