## **Wethersfield Community Activities C I O Trustees Report 2022-2023** 

## Regular Activities: 

Our Parent, baby and toddler group continued to run successfully twice a week during term time with additional activities during the school holidays. This continued on a voluntary donation basis with costs being assisted by various grants which helped with premises rent and the cost of materials. 

The Saturday Socials continued although with the end of the Covid crisis attendances declined somewhat. The venue changed to the pavilion in the Summer months and the club during the winter. Our thanks to the proprietors of both venues. 

## Special events 

Once again the Herts and Essex scooter club chose our village for their Summer run out breakfast stop and we provided the refreshments at the playing field and pavilion. This was a great success with approximately 100 mainly 1960s  Vespas and Lambrettas plus some more modern scooters in attendance. A good opportunity for people to turn out and see an unusual procession of these fine old vehicles. 

On the occasion of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we were heavily involved in the celebrations which included a parade through the village and a big screen showing the Concert from the Palace on the playing field. Unfortunately it was a very cold night which limited the attendance but those who came thoroughly enjoyed it. 

We were involved in the Christmas lights switch on as usual although, this year only in a supporting role but once again it proved to be one of the largest events in the village calendar.
