ANNUAL REPORT
The Trustees present their Annual Rewrt together with the Financial Statements of The
Washing Machine Project Foundation for the Year ended 19 July 2025. The Financlal
ststements comply with the Charities Art 2011 and the Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to Charitfe5 preparing their accounts in accordance with FRS 102 the Financial
Reporting SLindard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 (effective 20191
OBJEcfivES ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE
The Washing Machine Projert Foundation (PWMPFI was incorporated as a Charitable
Incorporated Organisation on 10th February 2021. TWMPF funds activities to provide relief
from financlal need or suffering amongst vithrns of war or natural or other kinds of disaster,
trouble or catastrophe. The Foundation foujses on fundir6 organisatlons to undertake
research and develop and deploy practtcal solutions to everyday problems.
In the Year to 19 July 2025, the Foundation recei¥Ed income of £152.663 to support its
objectives. Most of the funds were the dirert result of fundraising from primarily corporate
sources, with smaller individual giving adding to the funds from corporate sources. Grant5
amountlng to £322,624 were distrlbuted during the year to its sole beneficiary, The Washing
Machine Project CIC. higher level of grant expendltrJrÈ relative to income refiects a planned
drawdown of reserves accumulated In p￿¥10￿$ years from the RS Group strategic partnershlp.
TWMPF has no staff and its everyday activitles are managed by the Trustees.
Trustees have been recruited for their various areas of expertise (Engineering, Research,
Flnance, Business operatlons and Charity Governance). The￿ were no changes to the Board
of Trustees during the year.

Corporate Partner5hlps
RS Group has continued tri be an important source of funding during this year, contributing a
combined total of£74,839 throu8h RS Components and PS Americas. While the original three-
year strategic partnership agreed in April 2021 has now concluded. RS Group has contlnued
to support the Foundation and engagement with its employees, customers, and suppliers has
remained an important fundraising channel.
The Foundation has also received significant new corporate donations during thi5 period,
includin8 £11,578.21 from BrightCarEx)n and £1.523.45 from Mean Well. ￿flecting the
Foundation's efforts to diversify its funding base.
Charitable Found*ions and Trusts
The Foundation recerved grants and donations from severdl charitable foundations, including
the Perry Foundation1£4.6501. a donation via Founders Pled8e {£7,5(K)l. donation5 through
the Charities Aid Foundation {£4,1151, the mason￿ Charitable Foundation (£2501, and a

donation from the Atsm Academy PTA I£1.4611. Developing relationships with charitable
foundations is a growing area of activity forthe Foundation.
ju￿GIvIng and Indl¥lthal Gfvlng
Individuals and smaller organisations have continued to support the Foundation through its
JustGivin8 Page and other channels. JustGNing receipts totalled £H.215 for this period. This
channel has continued to be used bygroups ofstaff from RS Group and other supporters to
deposit funds from their individual or site-speafic fundralsing activities.
GRANT MAKING
During the period under review, there has been one recipient of funds-The Washing Machine
Project CIC ITWMP CICI- TWMP CIC is an organisation set up to alleviate the burden of
handwashin8 clothes in refugee camps and low and middle-income countries. TWMP has
developed and deployed an affordable off-grid manual crdnk washing machine, the Divya. It
Is the only machine of its klnd to be developed for humanitarian purposes and ￿qUireS no
electricityto operate. Handwashin8 clothes is recognised as bein8 a major barrier to education
for low-income and displaced people around the world and disproportionately impacts
women and children. This repetitive, demandingtssk. which cantske upwards of 20 hours per
week, often also leads to chronic back and joint pain.
Durin8 this reportin8 period, the Foundatlon grdnted The Washin8 Machlne Prolect CIC a
total of £322,624. This included the disbursement of a kr8e 8rant of £224,308 (scheduled in
the previous financlal year and paid in OrtoberlNovember 20241 to support the building and
distributlon of Oivya 1.65 machlnes, as well as further grdnts of £98.316 in Juty 2025 to
support ongoing pro8rammes.
Impact of Fundlng
Through the funding and support 8iven from the Foundation to the CIC, the following
impacts occurred durin8 the reFJorting period. In total. an estirnated 6.700 people were
directly impacted by TWMP CIC'S pro8Tarnrnes.
Manufarturln8 and Voluntèer Engagement
The Foundation funded"Machine Build Challenges" across Germary, Ita￿, Poland, South
Africa, and the UK. These events engaged over 140 corporate volunteers. including teams
from B5 Group and JLR. and resulted in the constructton of 51 Dfvya machlnes. Notably, this
period saw the first SUC￿$$fuL build led entirety by local teams in Milan, demonstratin8
improved technical documentstion and the scatability of the manufacturing model.
Gaza
Four machine5 V￿re funded and delivered to UK Med in Gaza to support stsff sanitatfon and
patient bedding at their care facilty. Thi5 distribution impacted approximately 3,200 people.

Greece
The Foundation supported the expansion of the manual launde￿tte at the Lesvos Closed
Control Access Centre {CCACI and further locations across Gree￿. An additional 30 machines
were shipped to join the existing 5 machines already in operation. Thi5 programme impacted
approximate￿ 3,Iyy) displaced people.
Uganda
The Foundation supported the complex re8ulatory process wtth the UNHCR and the Ministrv
of Water in U8anda, SUC￿ssfUllY securing £21.(KK) in duty and VAT savings for the upcoming
distribution in Kyangwali refugee Sett￿Ment through the Appropriate Technology Committee
IATCI evaluatlon. Thi5 preparatory work lays the 8roundwork for a major distribution
programme.
South Afrlca
The Foundation enabled the distribution of 10 machines to community centres. orphanages,
and women'5 livelihocrfl groups in the Free State and North johannesbu￿ impactin8
approximate￿¥ 500 people.
Publlc Beneflt and Educatlon
The Foundation supported the CIC'S partnership with the Desen & Technology Assoclation to
publish a free educational resource for the UK Key Stage 3 national syllabus, utilising TWMP'S
design process to inspire future en8ineer5. A Key Stage 4 lesson resource was also developed
and made available through Oak National Academv.
Advocacy and Awareness
Grant funds supported global street actlvatlons and soclal media campaigns that reached an
all-time high of 8.2 million views on TikTok. raisin8 unprecedented awareness of the global
burden of handwashing clothes.
FUTURE PLANS
The Foundation will continue to support The Washing Machine Project CIC as It works to
further reduce the cost of the Divya washing machine and expand its reach. A key priority for
the coming year is supporting the CIC establishing a manufacturlng facillty in IrKlia, which is
expected to significantly lower productFon and distribution costs, making the machines more
accessible to communities in need.
The Foundation is also aclively developin8 new partnerships with corporate and charitable
foundarion donors to diversify its income base and reduce ￿lianCe on any single f unding
source. The Trustees are committed to ensuring the Foundation's long-term financial
sustainability while continuing to maximise the Impact of its grant-making.

The Washing Machine Project Foundation is grateful for the support of its partners.
volunteers, and donors durlng the reporting period. The combined efforts of the Foundation.
The Washing Machine Project CIC. RS Group, and other partners have enabled the Suc￿$$fUl
production and distribution of Divya washirg machines to communities in need across
multiple countries.
The Foundation will contFnue to focus on research. development, and deployment of practical
solutions to everyday problems. helping individuals and communities affected by war, natural
disasters, and other catsstrophes.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
During the reporting period, The Washin8 Machine Project Foundatlon recelved a total of
£151,760 in donations. The funds came principally from donations from the R5 Group.
Expenditure was £325.386 consisting almost entirely of grants to The Washing Machine
Project CIC representing a planned drawdown of reserves that had built up over previous
years. Following the conclusion of the agreement with the RS Group, the RS Group has
remained supportive, Concerted efforts are however being made by the Trustees to diversify
the income base of the Charity and these are already bearing frult.
