Report of the trustees for the year ended 31 March 2022

The trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2022.

The Trustees who served during the year and up to the date of this report are set out on page 1. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to the major risks.

Structure, governance and management

The charity was established by a charitable Trust Deed on 9 February 2021. The charity’s objects are to run a church whose objects are:

-The advancement of the Christian Religion by the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ the Lord and the preaching and teaching of the Word of God by the Church in accordance with the Statement of Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland as approved by the General Council from time to time (the Statement)

-The furtherance of the work of the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland and the promotion of the spiritual teaching and the maintenance of the Statement and the promotion of religious observances that manifest the Statement.

Achievements and performance

Financial review

It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three to six month’s expenditure. The Trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able continue the current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.

Since its formation, the charity was engaged in selecting a suitable bank account from which to carry out its activities. This effort was hindered as most businesses were going through changes to adapt to the lockdown that was engendered by the Covid pandemic. As a result, there were no activities in the financial year.

Plans

The Trustees are hoping that work will be focused on impacting people of different ages in the community and for furthering our Christian ethos.

Statement of trustees' responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of charity’s activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing financial statements giving a true and fair view, the trustees are required to:

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees

I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 March 2022, which are set out on pages 7 to 9.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2013 (the 2013 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2013 Act.

to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2013 Act.

to state whether matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the next statement.

Independent examiner’s statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2013 Act and
