Norland Crew is a charitable entity govemed by its Congitution ￿0pted on 01 August 2016,
which has been carried over to the new ao.
An application was made to the Chaiity CommIs￿n to reglster Norland Cr&v as a new Charitable
Incorporated Organisation (CIO), charity number 1193459. This was successful on the 9th
February 2021, however due to Covid-19 and problems with the bank, a ￿ bank account could
not be set up until 2nd February 2022.
Recruitment and a
intment of Trustees
The trustees form the Execu￿ committ￿ of the charity. The members of the Executive
Committee are elected at the Annual General M￿ting by the members of the Charity. All
trustees are requlred to retire from Offi￿ tC¥Jether at end of the annual general meeting next
after the date of which they come intD Offi￿ but they may be rtrelected or re-apFointed. All
members are circulated invitations to nominate trustees in adwdnce of the AGM. There15 a
provision for the co-option of additional trust￿ if required.
The Constitution states that the Executive Committee shall consist of not less than 4 memttrs
nor more than 10 members.

New trustees are required to undergo induction training, provtded by the other tW5tees or
Suitable persons. Ideally, the induttion includes a discussion about the role and responsibilities of
trustees, the attivities, aims and objectives of the charity, the strucLure of the organisation,

Charty Commissions 'Roles and ResFrt)nsibilities of Trustees,, the Constitution, the latest ststutory
financial statements, Annual Rep)rt and copies of the minutes and management rerJ)rts provided
to the board of trustees. Any additional training required by the new trust&s will be identified
during induttlon, and may be reqLJested at any point by new and existing trustees, where it is
considered useful to their role as trustee.

To relieve or pr_event sufferlng oused by physical or mentsl health or by social or
economic circumstan￿, the preser4Qtlon of health and the advanTrment of education of
the cadets, forces veterdns and famllies by the rna1ntenan￿ and development of a servi
for people of the armed for￿.
To relieve need and distress amongst the members and former memtErs of the arnied
forces. To promote the health of individuals who are seNing or who have *rved in the
armed forces, who have been mentally or physicalty injured. To offer advice and SUPTX)rt
regarding issues of I(￿elInesS, ￿uma and a ￿gn[x)sting se￿1￿ to ￿5S other services if
required.
To support and give asSiStsn￿ to the families and dependents of all amEd forces
beneficiaries, especially the Norland CrvN cfhe FalklarKls Confiict).
To provlde asSIstan￿ with the provlsion of or contril)utlon to the education and training of
young people wthin the community or other relevant groups.
To provide the provision of advi￿ and infomiation to local and national government
agencies on matters affecting memlRrs of the arm8J forces, through liaising with
individual veterans and veteran organisations, either nationally or locally.
To commemorate and remember all members and or former members of the armed fOr￿S
who have lost their lives or suffered injury in SeN1￿ to lthe public.

It is the aim of the trustees to retain three to six months, core running costs in the unrestricted
general fund to ensure a sufficient buffer to enable effective financial decision-making, rather
than short term decisions, and the charity will work towards achieving this in the future by
looking at additional fund raising activities.
Statement of Trustees's responsibilities
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial period. The
Charity has elected to prepare its accounts on the Receipts and Payments basis in line with the
Charities Act 2011 which allows non-company charities with an income of less than £250,000 to
prepare their accounts on this basis.
The Trustees confirm that the accounts comply with the above requirements. The Trustee5 are
responsible for keeping proper accounting record5 which disclose with reasonable accuracy at
any time the financial position of the Charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the
assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable step5 for the prevention and detettion of
fraud and other irregularities.

that an audlt Is not required for this pwlod undw S￿li0n 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act)
and that an Independent examlnation is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
examlne the accounts under sectlon 145 of the Chaiities Att;
to follow the procedures lald down in the Generdl Directions given by the Charity Commissioners
under section 145 (5)(b) of the Charibes Art; and
to state whether parttcular matters have come tD my attention.
Basis of independent examinerfs report
My examination was carried out in aCc￿rdan￿ with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commi&%ioners. An examination indudes a rewew of the accounting recor(ts kept by the charity and
comparlson of the accounts presented wÈth those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
ttems or disclosures in ts accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees Con￿rning any such
matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be requlred In an audit,

In connection with my examination. ￿ matter has come to my attention:

whlch gives me reasonable cause to believe that in ary material res￿ the requirements

examlne the accounts under sectlon 145 of the Chaiities Att;
to follow the procedures lald down in the Generdl Directions given by the Charity Commissioners
under section 145 (5)(b) of the Charibes Art; and
to state whether parttcular matters have come tD my attention.
Basis of independent examinerfs report
My examination was carried out in aCc￿rdan￿ with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commi&%ioners. An examination indudes a rewew of the accounting recor(ts kept by the charity and
comparlson of the accounts presented wÈth those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual
ttems or disclosures in ts accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees Con￿rning any such
matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the eviden￿ that would be requlred In an audit,

and consequendy I do not express an au(fit opnion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examlnerfs siatement
In connection with my examination. ￿ matter has come to my attention:

whlch gives me reasonable cause to believe that in ary material res￿ the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordan￿ with s&tion 130 and 131 of the Charlties Art; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the
accounting requirements of the ￿arl￿eS Att have not been met.
(2) No matter has come to my attention in connection with my examinati¢)n to which, in my opinlon,
attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understsnding Df the acc(￿nts to be
