## **Incorporation & Objectives** 

St Albans & District Beekeepers Association was incorporated as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (cio) with the Charity Commission on 8th February 2021. It was established in order to assume the role formally undertaken by the Hertfordshire Beekeepers Association - St Albans & District Beekeepers ("Closing Charity"), an unincorporated charity. St Albans & District Beekeepers became a "Affiliated Local Association" (ALA) of Hertfordshire Beekeepers Association (cio) & was endowed with an initial capital by the closing charity equal to the assets then held. 

Upon the AGM of St Albans & District Beekeepers Association held on 24th January 2020, it was agreed by the membership to become a CIO registered charity. It commenced this role on 8th February 2021 & was endowed with an initial capital then held by the formally known St Albans & District Beekeepers Association. 

The objectives of the St Albans & District Beekeepers Association (cio) as set out in its constitution, are: 

To 

(i) To promote & further the craft of beekeeping 

(ii) To advance the education of the public in the importance of bees in the environment 

## **Activities** 



Activities in 2021 have necessary been severely limited by the constraints imposed by government in response to Covid 19. We were able to hold a beginners course spring via zoom, we were also able to attend 3 public events: 

1. open day at Hixberry Community Gardens 

2. Oaklands Field to Fork 

3. Berkhamstead Climate Action Week. 

We were able to hold 2 social events  for members in November & December 2021 under the current guidance of imposed government restrictions at that time. 

All other activities such as public events/fairs, social events were cancelled during restrictions imposed by government throughout the year. 

## **Membership** 

St Albans & District Beekeepers Association (cio) is an Affiliated Local Association (ALA) of Hertfordshire Beekeepers Association. (Registered charity No 1184776) 

## **1st Annual General Meeting** 

The 1st annual general meeting of St Albans & District Beekeepers Association (cio) was held on 4th March 2022, when all 3 of the Founding Trustees stepped down as set out in the constitution.

My examination include5 a revlew of the accounting records kept by St Albans & District
Beekeepers A550ciation and a comparison of the Accounts presented with those records. It
also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the Accounts, & seekin8
explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The proceduros undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and con3equently i do not
expres5 an audlt opinion on the view given by the accounts.
