Repair Café (Object 1b})- The monthly Haddenham Repair Cafe holds events on the first Saturday moming of the month at Haddenham Vlllage Hall. The team of volunteers are keen to repair broken things - anything portable. If it looks like it can't be rgpaired, we'll help find spare parts for it. Supported by Zero&Carbon Haddenham and Buckinghamshire Council. the aim is to encourag8 'repairing' rather than 'replacing' as the logical first step when things break. This Is because repairing keeps things cwt of landfill and reduces Unne￿$Sary consumption. The Rgpalr Café hopes to be able to help tackle most repalrs where a Ilttle glue or a replacement screw or part is needed. Therewill be somethings thatthe Repair Café is not likely to b8 able to fix broken screens on mobile phones for example. And it has had to draw the line where things are not portable large pieces of furniture for example - but if It can be carrled to the Repair Café we will look at itl Sorng things are {badly} designed so they are hard or even Impossible to repair so even if the Repair Café can't offer a fix it can offer advice on disposal, replacement or other options for repair. Café Zero (Object 1c)) - A community café running alongside the Repair Café whlch provides a pla￿ to meet each month for refreshments and a chat wilh displays about the ZeroCH group's work. The café supplies filter coffee. lea. hot hocolate, milk shakes and a range of home-made cakes and biscuits. Caffeine free drinks and vegetarian and vegan cakes and biscuits are usually available. One of the village's goals in the neighbourhood plan is for the parish to become carbon neutral by 2030. ReLeaf Is part of delivering this and is a joint project belween ZeroCH and Haddenham Parish Council (HPCI. Public beneflt: Removing CO2 from the atmosphere and assisting in mitl9ating cllmala ¢hange. Providing enhanced wlldlife habitat. Benefit to society as a whole and nature. 5. Llbrary of Thlngs (Object 1b))- Seeking ways lo create a 'Library of Things, that can be hired including, but not limited to, t(N3ls. catering equipment and fumiture. The library nggalas the need to purchase Items that would be rarely used. Reduclng waste going to landfill. 6. Themial Imaging came￿ (Object 2.) Zero Carbon Haddgnham have a handheld FLIR Thermal Imaging Scanner available for loan to Haddenham village residents. This devi￿ is a camera whlch takes special infra-red pictures whlch can be used to rev8al any hotspots caused by poor Insulatlon where heat is escaping from the walls, roof. wlndows or doors of a property. For those who have used ZeroCH's scanner in the past, this is a ompletely new and improved device wlth better resolution and the ability to merge the thermal image wilh conventional photograph for better identification of features. Public benefit: Reducing pollution 8nd energy costs. 7. Apple Press (Object 1c)) An apple press and associated equipfflent (pasteuriser) is available for all residents enabling them to make apple juice and cider and save wasling apples. Recycling the tricky stuff (Object 1b)) - Obj8Ctive is to keep sbjff out of landfill I incinerators by recycling items that cannot be recycled at kerb side or locally. Grant obtained from the Thriving Communities fund, a community grants scheme run by Falrhive Homes and also the Village Fete. Publtc benefit: Reducing the need for manufacture thus reducing emissions. Reducing waste going to landfill. 9. Zero Waste Street Fc￿d I Summer and Winler Fest l Beer Fèstival (object 1 c)) _ An ongoing t￿0￿part project covering recycling and reusable serve-ware at Haddenham's monthly Village Hall street food events and Haddenham's annual Summer and Winter Fest l Beer Festival events. Supported by grants from Bucks Council's Waste Prevention Fund in collaboration with event organisers. Eleclric Vehicle scheme (Object 1a). 1 e) & e)) The EV Hire Club ran from December 2022 to September 2023. Unfortunately, the Haddenham Electric Vehicle Hire Club cvased to operate in September 2023 as increased costs meant that the club was unsustainable for our provider. The car club was laken Ovgr by a commercial company Zimbl Vehicle Hire with assistance from thg Parish council. but unfortunately. ZeroCH no longer has any direct Involvement with electric vehicle hire. 2. Repair Café (Objed 1 b)) - Haddenham Repair Cafe has operated every month since November 2021. Has taken on over 850 jobs and succeeded in fixing over 660 items with a 78Yo repair success rate to date. Advice has been glven lo owners on how to repair their Items thus keeplng them from being dls¢arded and replaced by new. 3. Café Zero (Object 1c)) - Continues to provide a place to meet each month for refreshments and a chat with displays about the ZeroCH group's work. 4. ReLeaf (Object 1d)) - Up to 200 trees and 2500 hedglng plants have begn planted by ZeroCH around the vlllag8 in many lo¢atlons. The exceptionally dry spring and sumffler of 2025 meant the team had to do a considerable amount of watering and maintenance work al the Tibbs Road playing fields slte in order to keep alive the 115 trees and 1450 hedge plants they had planted there. Thankfully this tremendous effort proved to be successful, and most of the trees have survlved. The council and ReLeaf are devising a ccpordinated watering reglme for 2026 and to help implement this ReLeaf has secured a Heart of Bucks grant lo purchase some new watering equipment. Planting plans for 2026 indudg, in spring. a semicircl8 of blossom trees in the Country Park at the Grove development, and in autumn in the same area, the team will start to replace the 100 trees, planted by developers. thal have perished there in the recent summer droughts. In August we were visited by the Heart of Bu¢ks Community Foundation and awarded a special ￿rtificate by Pippa Kirkbiide, the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in nition of what we had achieved Page 6 of 13 ParÈ 1.20 File.. Library of Things (Object 1b)) Discussions ongoing within group to realise our objective. 6. Themial Imaging Camera (Object 2) There have been a handful of loans of the thermal imaging camera for the lasl season. A £10 deposit I donation per night was asked of users. On occasion people have found energy leaks from new houses and were grateful to be able to present the images cAplured to the developer as evidence to get remedial work done. We are seeking someone to manage this project going foNard. 7. Apple Press (Object 1¢)) - An online booking process has b8en developed, and the availability of the press will be promoted during next summer. 8. Recycling the tricky stuff (Object 1 b)) - To date we have recycled around 300 kg of empty pill packets over 4 milllon packs! over 57Kg storage media, 10Kg stationery. 10Kg oral care, 3Kg contacl 18nses, and more th8n 21Kg electrical cables. Collection is once a month at the Repair Izgro Café Saturday. The focus has been on empty pill packels but as funding is coming to an end, w8 are strongly encouraging people to take thgir produts lo local recycling points e.g. at Specsavers and Boots. 9. Zero Wasle Street Food I Summer and Winter F9St l Beer Festival (object 1 c)) - Recycling: Introduced food waste collertion. Replaced general waste bins th recycling hubs lo maximise collection and compliance. Reusables: Replaced disposable glasses at the bar with reusables. Provided real bowls, plates and forks as an alternative to dlsposables. Sourced reusable food trays. 10. Energy C¢Troperatives (object 1a>) Continue discussions with I￿al environmental groups and businesses. 11. Bean Feasts (object Ic))- The first was very successful and enjoyable evening. We have booked a second one in May 2026. Potential future events could indude Italian.
