Governante and Management The Charity was formed as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ICIOI and registered 5th February 2021. From 1st April 2021 the a55et5, reserve5, liabilities and commitment5 of 08515, a former charity of the 58me name110581921 wa5 transferred to this newlv constltuted Charltable Incorporated Organlsation. The trustees, staff and management team were slmllarly transferred to the new CIO. Oversight of The Oasis Is provided by the board of Trustees (see previous pagel who have a range of professional skills and experience. They are supported by a Centre Manager whose role 15 to lead the day-to-day activity of The Oasis. The Èxisting trusteÈs can appoint any new trustees following the provisions laid out in the Charitvs governing instrument. In keeping with many charitable organisations, The Oasis is dependent upon a pool of supporters who give of their time and fin3nie. The charity is managed on a day-to-d4y basis by 4 M3nagement Team. Trustees and Man3gement 4re drawn frorn the Ch3riry's pool of supporterslvolunteers. The Trustees seek to enhance the team by encouraging those with appropriate tomplÈmèntÈry skills to take an activè role in the work of Thè Oasis. There are currently 2 part time paid employees and IS unpaid volunteers. Overvlew The charity operates a crisis pregnancy centre. The Oasis,, in Horsh3m and provides 3 service to residents of Horsham and the surrounding town5 and vill4ges of Su55ex. The free services offered by the charity include.. Objects The Objerts of the Charity are.. The 3dv4ncement of education in the subject of pregnancy and into the effects thereof upon women whether physical, medical, or psythologital. The preservation and protection of women's health. This has then decreased the ability to seelsupport more clients this is 81so reflected in the fluctuation of the fin3nci41 performance. The 08515 seeks to rebalance 4nd create more 4vailabilityto further 5UPPOrt and expand all area5 of the services provided. In the year to 31st March 2024, the charity had operating loss of £1,441. Donation5, fundraising and other income provided £16,503 for the charity activities. Costs were cÈrefully controlled by the MÈnagetnentTeam at £17,944. At the period end this lèft the charity with re5erve5 of £14,511 Ouring the year. the charity made a temporary appointment 3 Fundraiser. There were no Serious incidents during the year. The Unlntended Pregnancy and Pregnancy Loss Advlsory 5etvlce This service is provided by contractu31 means, with a trained practitioner providing the service remotely. We are currently unable to deliver Pregnancy Loss support. All the leaflets offered to clients Ère Information Standard approvÈd. ThÈ Centre is an organisational member of the British Association of Coun5ellors and Psychotherapists. Arrangements tan be made by clients for appointments with a trained prartitioner retnotely. Over thÈ tourse of thÈ flnantial year 2023-24, 03sis provided advisory sessions to 10 clients plus another 10 clients that were referred to other Ioc31 centres due to the decrease in Practitioner5 availability. Schools Work The progr3rnme cover5 foetal development, the UK'5 abortion laws 3nd help5 the children to underst3nd the impact of an unintended pregnancy, and to explore the emotions and choices associated with one. It is hoped thar this education and awareness help5 to reduie teenage unintended pregnaniy. Presentation5 were made to 755 5tudent5. Baby Clothlng and Equipment The centre continue5 to supply good quality equipment and clothirig to those in need,. all of which h85 been don?ted to The Oa515 for this purpose. The service operates out of premises in Crawley where 105 clients benefitted from store don8tions. Reserve5 The trustees hève considered the level of reserves they wish to retain, appropriate to the Charitvs needs. This is based on the Charity's size and the level of financial commitments held. Maintaining cash reserrfes equivalent to 13 weeks cashflow has been onsidered prudent. The trustees aim to ensure the Ch4rity will be able to continue to fulfil it5 charitable objective5 even if there is a temporary shortfall in income or unexpected expenditure. The trustees will endeavour not to set aside funds unnecessarily. Risk assessment The trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a regular basis and believe that maintaining the free reserves stated combined with the annual review of the contro15 over key financi31 systems c8rried out on an 3nnual ba515 will provide sufficient resources in the event of adverse conditions. The trustees have also examined other oper3rional and business risks which they f3ce and confirm that they have e5t8blishe(I systems to mitigate the 5ignific8nt risks.
