In each case in the city of Leicester and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the charity trustees may from time to time think fit.

We, as trustees, recognise that it is our legal obligation to ensure that the trust's activities are in line with our objectives and activities and we are satisfied that this is the case for the period in question. The trustees also confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.

4. Achievements and Performance

Key Events

The following activities have been conducted by the charity in the reporting period.

The activities of the charity during the year has included regular visiting of venues associated with sex work in Leicester and meeting with sex workers on the streets of Leicester. Much of this work has been carried out in conjunction with other agencies including the Police. Events such as Easter, Christmas and International Women’s day have acted as a springboard for activities such as providing gifts and inviting the women to events.

The work has been supported financially by many organisations including the Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner, The Church Welfare Association, Souter, The Edith Murphy Trust together with donations from local churches and individuals.

During the year 3 of the employees have been on maternity leave which has reduced the amount of venue visits. The work is supported by many volunteers either directly by being part of the venue visiting or street outreach teams or indirectly by being part of the security or cake baking teams (cakes are regularly taken to the venues) or by prayer.

The charity employed 3 staff as at 31[st] March and had 2 vacancies. All positions are part time.

5. Financial Review

The Trust had an income this financial year of £39,693 (£23,696 unrestricted, £15,997 restricted) and total expenditure of £33,765 (£16,477 unrestricted, £17,288 restricted) leading to a slight excess of income over expenditure of £5,928.

An amount of £19,965 (£11,890 unrestricted, £8,075 restricted) was brought forward from the previous year.

The funds at the end of the year amounted to £25,893 (£19,162 unrestricted £6,731 restricted).

The Trust has undertaken a concerted effort to raise funds which has been very successful. This has resulted in it being able to continue to pursue its charitable aims in the future.

Finances are reviewed each month by the trustees and quarterly at the trustees’ meetings.

6. Reserves Policy

The following is the reserves policy of the charity. The reserves are reported to the trustees each month and at the quarterly trustees meeting. The reserves are assessed against previous income

and expenditure and categorised as either green (the reserves will last for month than 12 months of normal operations), amber (the reserves will last for less than 12 months but more than 5 months of normal operations) or red if the reserves will last for 5 months or less of normal operations. Appropriate actions are assigned to each categorisation.
