About Qalb Connection

Qalb Connection is a small charity based in Surrey. Qalb Connection was formed by expatriates of Pakistan who took it on themselves to deliver charity directly to Pakistan. The founding members personally travel to Pakistan to ensure the charity is delivered to those in need.

Aims and Objectives

Qalb Connection aim to alleviate poverty and suffering in third world countries. Qalb Connection raise funds through social media platforms, some advertising but mostly from word of mouth through family and friends.

Our objectives are to invest in clean drinking water projects, housing restoration projects and to provide food packages to alleviate poverty in the short term. Qalb Connection also invest in individuals to support them to self-sufficency this has been in the past by providing sewing machines, farm animals such as chicken, buffalo and other cattle.

Qalb Connection

for the year ended 31 January 2023

Activities during year ended 31 January 2023 were:

Monies were collected via word of mouth and social media. Over 400 families received food packages from us.

A charity cricket match was played in order to raise funds. Food stalls were set up and monies from sales were collected.

A family fun day "Mela" was organised for August 2022 and donations were collected from stall holders and attendees

All funds are raised by volunteers and no costs for fundraising are borne by the charity.

Activities for year ending 31 January 2024:

Activities will broadly be the same as those for 2023.

A family fun day is planned for August 2023 where the local community can hold stalls to sell various products including home cooked snacks, toys, interactive games etc etc

Qalb Connection Independent Examiner's Report for the year ended 31 January 2023

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Qalb Connection for the year ended 31 January 2023.

The report is solely made to the trustees as a body, in accordance with the Charities Act 2011. My examination has been undertaken so that I might state to the trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner's report and for no other purposes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the trustees as a body, for my examination, for this report, or for opinion I have formed.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the Trustees of Qalb Connection, you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act). I report in respect of my examination of the ’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act.

In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

Independent examiner's statement

Since the Qalb Connection's gross income exceeded £25,000 your examiner must be a member of a body listed in Section 145 of 2011 Act. I confirm I am qualified to undertake the examination because I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, which is one of the listed bodies.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or

2) the financial statements do not accord with those records; or

3) the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
