The Friends of Fawley Church was founded in February 2021 with the objec:ve, ‘To preserve, maintain and enhance the ancient Church and Churchyard of St Mary the Virgin, Fawley as a place of worship and gathering for the greater benefit of the community’.

building works. The whole community benefited from the new kitchen, disabled WC, flexible sea:ng, good hea:ng, sound and ligh:ng. A café was held every Saturday morning in May and June, bringing in new visitors as well as locals and with many volunteers helping make it a success.

Events included a popular Midsummer Supper, nature talk, medita:on and poetry groups, opera evening, Christmas Fair, and first aid training – all designed to bring the community together and raise much-needed funds for future works at the church as well as suppor:ng other chari:es. The church con:nues to be a place of worship and provides an enhanced and more welcoming environment for many religious celebra:ons.

We are thankful that fellow trustees and other volunteers are ensuring that the church is benefi:ng the whole community.
