FINANCIAL REVIEW

YEAR END POSITION

As at 31 January 2024 the charity had reserves amounting to £51,101 . The charity had £10,569 deposited at the bank with liabilities amounting to £425.

RESERVES POLICY

The charity has a policy of trying to maintain reserves at six months annual running costs.The trustees are actively working on the necessary resources to achieve that target.

PRINCIPAL SOURCES OF FUNDING

The trustees extend their gratitude to Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council who continued to support the charity. The trustees meet regularly to review additional sources of funding.

The trustees also wish to express their thanks to the owners of the property who have foregone the annual rent charges as a means of contributing in support of the charity.

STRUCTURE ,GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

The constitution is the governance documents of the charity.

Organisational Structure

Bolton Hindus' Age Inspiration is governed by its trustees who are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation and the policy of the charity. The trustees carry the ultimate responsibility for the conduct of Bolton Hindus Age Inspiration and ensuring that the charity satisfies its legal and contractual obligations. The trustees meet three times a year and delegate the day to day operations to the centre coordinator.

Recruitment and Appointment of Trustees

Trustees are elected for three years at Annual General Meeting. The criteria, eligibility criteria and restrictions for the elections are as per the constitution. Induction packages and away day sessions are held to explain the policies and procedures for newly appointed trustees.

Specific training is planned for trustees however they are entitled to identify any training to improve their performance.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

To relieve the charitable needs of the elderly in the Borough of Bolton and the surrounding area in particular but not exclusively to those of the Hindu faith and their family and carers.

To provide for the public benefit by operating a day care facility and transport service and by providing advice and support as the Trustees deem fitting.

The principal activities of the Charity are to provide and assist in the provision of facilities for the recreation and leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare for the inhabitants of Bolton and in particular older persons of Asian origin.At Bolton Hindus Age Inspiration we provide services and facilities for our users to get together for social interaction .Also we encourage social,educational,health promotion and craft activities which in turn encourages independence,healthy living and integration of communities. Activities include trips and excursions,armchair aerobics,computer and sewing classes and bingo sessions, park walks ,weekly shopping and English classes. These all help in achieving our objectives.

Our users are mainly local elderly Asian people but is open to all communities regardless of creed,colour or faith.All our activities are targeted for our users to live an independent, active and healthy life and are well attended.

The maintenance of our comprehensive range of activities is our number one priority. We have developed our services over the years to meet the changing needs of older people with a focus on providing holistic prevention and exercise classes. We fully support adult learning and have regular Computer and English classes delivered in-house with trained staff.

The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of Section 4 of The Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by The Charities Commission for England and Wales.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/01.2024

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
