Advice/courses in cooking
and food management skills are offered from
time to time. A warm space is provided in
winter and a convivial environment all year
for craft and coffee mornings. Regular
weekly lettings of the hall are to a church
group, a Tibetan children’s group, a dance
group and Tai Chi classes .Residents also
hold family occasions such as parties,
wakes, and other celebrations. Income from
letting averages £200 per week. The
“Community Growers” project has for several
years given residents the opportunity to
learn how to grow their own fruit and
vegetables, and to support the Community
Fridge in times of plenty. The Centre also
provides a base for support with school
uniform purchases, a Good Neighbour
scheme, and the 3Ts community support
group.|

## **Achievements and Performance**

||SORP reference||
|---|---|---|
|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|The main achievement of the charity for the
past few years has been the running of our
community fridge, which began as a “waste-
not want-not” project but expanded vastly
during Covid-19 to reach out to many local
families suffering extreme need. In doing
this, we gave support to deal with other
problems and helped to keep the community
in touch. Continuing the work of the past few
years, we still offer grant-supported food-
related workshops, skill-learning, continuing
encouragement to young mums and single
residents. During the weekday visits to the
TCF an estimated 30/40 residents enjoy
socialising at coffee mornings, share craft
skills and obtain help with problems in their
daily lives. We continue to encourage local
groups to set up leisure activities to benefit
our residents and local people generally;
overall participation is approx. 50 people per
week.|

## **Financial Review**

|Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period|Para 1.21|Following last year’s first full year of trading
as a CIO, the charity has continued to
maintain a good financial balance. Our total
income was £35646, of which the restricted
income for the Community Fridge formed
37%, the balance being mainly from
unrestricted hiring of the hall, events, and
investment interest.|
|---|---|---|
|Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held|Para 1.22|The ongoing lease negotiations with BCP
Council revealed the need for TCA to
commission a site survey, pushing back our
major refurbishment plans (toilets & office)
but the Trustees felt the £10,000 in reserve
should be renewed as we also faced
unknown costs for solicitors, surveyors and
historic gas charges.|
|Amount of reserves held|Para 1.22|£10,000|
