We engage the community through our
contacts, our website and social media.

than going to landfill, thus having a positive

financial position at the end

The total income for the charity was
£33,159 compared with £51,282, a
decrease of 35%.
Whilst income is signifcantly down on
2021, that year was characterised by a
specifc
fundraising event to purchase a new
van. The charity derives most of its
income from
donations by individuals, corporations,
grants from local government and the
sale of donated items. There have
been no claims for gift aid yet but an
application for HMRC recognition has
recently been sought. It held a large
cash balance at year end due to an
end of year fundraising event that
couldn’t be deposited at the new Metro
bank account until Post Ofce banking
was granted in early 2023.
**Expenditure**
Total expenditure by the charity in
2022 was £29,096 compared with
£24,746 in 2021. This has been
primarily due to increases in
warehousing following the rental of a
further storage facility, a full year of
administrative salaries, and higher
transportation costs due to increased
charitable activity and fuel prices.
**Net income / defcit for the charity**
The charity had a net position of
income over expenditure of plus
£4,063. The charity is currently writing
its reserves policy.
**Restricted funds**
The charity holds £10,308 in restricted
funds compared to £20,251 stated in
2021.
