On event days up to 15 volunteers assist at the bandstand with various tasks, to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors attending events. The total recorded hours of volunteer activity for the period of this report were 2142 hours. Other

During the period of this report, six events
were held at the bandstand. One event (‘Young
Music’ failed to attract an audience, but
despite this, income from attendees from
incidental lotteries, donations, and
refreshments almost equalled that of the
previous season, indicating the strong local
support for the activities at the bandstand.
The charity continues to offer four musical
events as 'free to attend'. This is considered
important as the Forest of Dean is recognised
as 'an area of social and economic deprivation'.
Events at the bandstand also attract visitors to
the area, with up to 20% of the audience
identifyingas visitors.|

installing a new permanent canopy for the
bandstand which will reduce the need for a
temporary canopy each summer season,
including obtaining planning permission, and
obtaining a 15-year (renewable) lease with
Forestry England.
A grant from Arts Council England for just over
£74,000 has been obtained, and the
Friends have raised a further £11,000 over the
past four years, mostly from very generous
donations from local people. Currently further
capital grant match funding is being sought to
enable the build of the new canopy to start in
September 2025.|

of Scarr Bandstand previously existed as an unincorporated community group
2. Friends of Scarr Bandstand operates a single bank account. 'Restrirted' or'Reserved' funds
are ring fenced wtthin the bank account Grants awarded for a particular project are
'Restricted Funds,. FOSB marks other sponsorship or donated funds as 'Reserved Funds, for
specifK projects or purposes. On 31" March 2024. the sum of £1012 was transferred from
the 'Restricted Funds. to Unrestricted IRe5epied) Funds. This sum vrns made up of unspent
grant funding from previous financial years. no longer subject to reports'ng to the relevant
grant aid bodies.
3. Ticket sales (Theatrical Events). TKket sales for theatrical events are made at the event on
behalf of the produrtion companies by the Friends. The produth'on companies also offer
tickets for sale before the events via their web sites. The charity benefits frorn a donation
from the production companies based on ticket sales. Balancing payments are made to the
production companies to align the value of the ticket sales with the donatbon amount agreed
by the production companies.
4. Friends of Scarr Bandstand have no potential liabilities under guarantee outstanding at the
date of the statement of assets and liabilities, 31° March 202S (see Financial Statementl.
5. Friends of Scarr Band5tsnd have no debts outstsnding at the dète of the ststement of assets
and liabilities, 31 March 2025 (See Financial Ststernent}. which is owed by Friend5 of Scarr
Bandstand, and which is secured by an express charge on any of the assets of Friends of
ScarT Bandstsnd.
