Objectives and activities
The charity's objects
The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:

Working to actively confront individual, collective, institutional, and structural discrimination and prejudice that worsen health inequalities, including racism.

Working to reduce health inequalities by improving health outcomes for patients who are socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or who belong to marginalised patient groups, including but not limited to:

Homeless patients

Vulnerable migrants, asylum seekers and refugees

Gypsies and Travellers

LGBTQ+ patients

Sex workers

Working to improve health outcomes for these groups in any way that the charity trustees see fit, including but not limited to:

The charity's main activities
Fairhealth is a charity offering courses, elearning, blogs, a podcast and more. Materials are largely delivered online. All activities and learning are designed to enable healthcare professionals to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to work in areas of deprivation, with marginalised patients and to reduce health inequalities.
Public benefit statement
In setting our objectives and planning our activities our trustees have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit and in particular, the advancement of equality and diversity.
Achievements and performance
This year we have again focused on consolidation with our Trustees and refreshing our content. We have launched a number of new free learning modules and undertaken a refresh of all our existing content. We have recruited new “Champions” and offered a Creative Writing course.
Financial review
The net payments for the year were £3,295, including net receipts of £2,827 on unrestricted funds and net payments of £468 on restricted funds.
Reserves policy
The charity's free reserves, at the year end were £16,284.
The trustees have not yet adopted a reserves policy.

1 Accounting policies
Basis of accounting
The trustees have taken advantage of section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 and have prepared the accounts on a receipts and payments basis.
There has been no change to the accounting policies since last year.
No changes have been made to the accounts for previous years.
Taxation
As a charity the organisation benefits from rates relief and is generally exempt from income tax and capital gains tax but not from VAT. Irrecoverable VAT is included in the cost of those items to which it relates.
Fund accounting
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the accounts.
