The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) formed on 25 January 2021 and is governed by a constitution.
## **Method of recruitment and appointment of trustees**
The trustees of the charity are appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees.

## **Objectives and activities**
## **The charity's objects**
The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:
1. Working to actively confront individual, collective, institutional, and structural discrimination and prejudice that worsen health inequalities, including racism.
2. Working to reduce health inequalities by improving health outcomes for patients who are socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or who belong to marginalised patient groups, including but not limited to:
- Homeless patients
- Vulnerable migrants, asylum seekers and refugees
- Gypsies and Travellers
- LGBTQ+ patients
- Sex workers
3. Working to improve health outcomes for these groups in any way that the charity trustees see fit, including but not limited to:
- health professionals' education
- research and academic activities
- advocacy
- support to policy development
- support to healthcare workforce initiatives
## **The charity's main activities**
Fairhealth is a charity offering courses, elearning, blogs, a podcast and more. Materials are largely delivered online. All activities and learning are designed to enable healthcare professionals to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to work in areas of deprivation, with marginalised patients and to reduce health inequalities.
## **Public benefit statement**
In setting our objectives and planning our activities our trustees have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit and in particular, the advancement of equality and diversity.
## **Achievements and performance**
The CIO was formed on 25 January 2021; these are its first accounts and it benefited from a transfer of £21,458 from the preceding unincorporated association.
In the past year we have migrated to a new online learning portal. Updating of the website and platform has enabled more interactive spaces for groups to engage and connect online in a way that was not possible on our previous website. These interactions allow for more meaningful engagement and networking connections within the trailblazer trainees and Primary Care Network Health Inequality Leads whom currently use them. It is hoped to expand this to create a similar space for the Post-CCT GP Trailblazers.
We currently have 1,250 registered users registered on 2,340 courses. In the past year we have developed and published five new learning modules and three podcast episodes.
The charity has provided a quality and affordable space to develop and host content for the London Network of Nurses and Midwives Homelessness group – namely their online module on “health related street outreach” which is available and free to all whom wish to access it.
Ongoing provision of free, core, foundational e learning modules pertaining to health inequalities and related topics.

## **Achievements and performance continued**
Hosting and curation of both the Post-CCT Trailblazer GP and trainee fellowship programmes. Arming and equipping the next generation with tools to help develop not only their clinical acumen but personal and professional resilience in a way that enables them to not only survive but thrive in their chosen spaces.
Provision of a support programme to West Yorkshire PCN Health Inequalities Leads. We have been able to use the courses we developed for this cohort, providing them for free and openly accessible to all.
## **Financial review**
The net receipts for the period were £19,452, including net receipts of £16,756 on unrestricted funds and net receipts of £2,696 on restricted funds.
## **Reserves policy**
The charity's free reserves, excluding fixed assets, at the period end were £16,756. The charity does not have a reserves policy.

## **1 Accounting policies**
## **Basis of accounting**
The trustees have taken advantage of section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 and have prepared the accounts on a receipts and payments basis.
## **Taxation**
As a charity the organisation benefits from rates relief and is generally exempt from income tax and capital gains tax but not from VAT. Irrecoverable VAT is included in the cost of those items to which it relates.
## **Fund accounting**
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.
