Para 1.20	Families of children with physical disabilities have received advice, guidance, and support, helping them navigate systems that have led to increased independence for their children. Specialist equipment, including all- terrain wheelchairs, has been loaned to enable children and young people to access a wider range of environments. Personal, needs-based grants have been provided to help children and young people purchase specialist equipment—primarily wheelchairs and mobility aids—that offer a higher level of independence than standard NHS provision.
