Annual Report for 2024 About Caring Kits for Kids Caring Kits lor Kids was incorporated as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2021 with the aim ol fundraising and putting together backpacks for Children and young people entering emergency foster care via A&E and for mothers fleeing situations ol domestic abuse and human traffi"eking. Our kit5 for children and young people entering emergency foster care contain change of clothes, toiletries, a mental health resource from the NSPCC and comforts such as a book and a cuddly toy. The kits are designed to provide dignity and comfort to children and young people at an uncertain time and ensure they arrive in emergenGy foster Gare with more than just the clothes they are wearing- Our kits for expectant mothers fleeing sitU8tions ol doff*stic abuse and human trafficking contain a change of clothes. toiletries. a bool a notepad and perL a cuddly toy and a drinks bottle. 2024 Year in Review 2024 saw us continue in our mission to provide dignity and comfort to those in need, in hospital. For our area leads. this meant continuing to support the work of NHS staff at hospitals across the country. We celebrated a great many wins- every delivery meant a little support was offered to someone who needed it. The charity a150 continued its commitment to sustainability. the environment and Teducing our carbon footprint, by migrating our website to infrastructure powered by IO0% renewable energy. The essential operating Model of the charity Is to make contact with a hospital. or receive a request from one. identrfy the number ol kits required and shop and pack them accordingly. Whenever we make a deltvery. we want to ensure that the kits provided are tailored to the needs of their recipients. This involves delivering a variety ol backpacks. each with items intended for different groups, fro newborns to t&enagers as well as new mothers. Over the years, we have worked with a number of hospitals and this year was no different! In Ipswich, we applied for funding Irom Tesco s Stronger Starts scheme. Tesco customers around Ipswich were asked to select between three charities. each supporting projects in the cotnmunity - indicating their preference by voting with tokens acquired at the checkout. We were very pleased to receive the most votes, receiving £1500. equivalent to 30 kits which we delivered in July and November 2024. Our thanks to Tesco and Groundwork UK tor their support Klts beNnK delivered to Ipswich Hosplr81 This success sn Ipswich mirrored the 30 kits delivered to Birmingham Womens and Children s NHS foundation trust earfier in the year. Again Tesco"s Community
Grants scheme. this time. delivered the funds necessary to m8ke this possible. which we are incredibly grateful for. We have also worked with St George's Hospital in Tootin& 8gaiTr where a further 24 kits were delivered in collaboration with A15tom. ILMÉt•* Klts beln8 deliverecl ro 5t George's Hospir81 At Worthing Hospit81 and St Richard's Hospital, we wrked closely. again, with Joan and the Chichester Lions Club to donate clothes and baby supplies leftover from 2023 when we packed kits for the hospital. Occasionally, we are asked to respond in a shorter time frame. In Summer, we provided a kit for a young person in Urgent need, at a h05Pital within the University Hospitals Sussex Foundation frust. Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers, we were 8ble to deliver the kit within 48 hours. A tirst for Caring Kits for Kidsl We couldn't suppty kits without the amazing lundraising of our volunteers. This year's fundraising included £1649.61 raised through Coffee momings at Alstorn depots across London. Our Area Lead for London. Kalina, fundraised this pheT)omenal sum over just three ¢offee tnornings where sausage rolls. lemon drizzle cake, samosas and croissants were well received by some of Alstom's incredibly generous employees.

We know that these kits are valued and make such a big difference to those that receive them, often at the m05t diffi¢ult times in their Itves.
2024 Financial Review Trustees have received regular reports this past year on the charitls financial position and have had regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public ben8h"L In 2024, Caring Kits for Kids. income increased by £234 from £3536 to £3770, expenditure decreased by £341 from £4728 in 2023 to £4387 in 2024. Materi8ls Spending accounted lor £4230 of all expenditure. At the end of 2024. Caring Kits for Kids had £5,197 at the banl with a reserves level of £lOOO. In 2024, the rate of inflation in the United Kingdom was 3.3% compared to 6.8% in 2023 and 7.9% in 2022. Whilst inflation levels are decreasing. It is likely the rising Cost of goods will continue to remain a risk factor to the charity in 2025. Going into 2025. lack of income diversih"cation and aGcurate management of accru81s 8re the two biggest tinancial risks the charity faces. Caring Kits for Kids. biggest governance risk remèins the loss of key staff and volunteers. Caring Kits lor Kids relies significantly on key statt and volunteers to operate and so it will be Grucial to retain 8s well as attract further staff and volunteers. Caring Kits for Kids. day-to-day operating costs continue to remain low, thanks in part to nonprofit offerings from Google. BT. Saleslorce and Microsoft.
