Gascoyne One Community Centre Annual Roport for the year 2024-2025 Gascoyne One Communily Centre is a Charitable Incorporated Organisallon (CIO) which is run by residents of Gascoyne One Estate. We lease the community cenlre from Sancluary Housing Association ISHA), a Reglstered Social Landlord. This is our second year of full income from the hire of the community cenlre. The income has been used to subsidise a number of activities: Exercise classes, homework club, sewing club, one off social welfare grants to residents of our estate and the occasional evenl. Comrnunity Lunches have had record numbers of attendees wilh usually over 60 people attending. The lunch grant has been underspent and the remaining grant has been carried fotward for the next year. From the next accounting period (i.e. The current one) the lunches are being administered by the Gascoyne One Lunch Club, who have opened their own bank account. All of the work in running the hall, including bookings and some of the cleaning, is done voluntarily but we remain keen lo provide employment to those living on the estate. We are continuing to face lengthy delays to repair under the Service Level Agreement that SHA have with us although the repairs service has improved. SHA continues to cover the costs of energy, premises Insuran and fire alarms for which we continue to be very grateful. SHA continues to lease us the community centre although the term of the old lease has expired. We believe the expiry date was 201h February 2025 but we have never received a signed copy of the lease. SHA wishes us to start contributing towards the premises bills in the future under the new lease. We are not sure of the terms of the lease and in the meantime we have built up reserves in our accounts. There are currently 5 trustees: Alana Heaney, Derek Smith, Pail Jeszke, Simon Lukes and Vardea Lassman. All trustees currently have insurance in place for public liability.
