community and our brethren through our
fortnightly Sunday services on the 2nd and 4th
Sundays of each month, as well as through our
Bible study sessions. However, due to challenges
in finding a suitable day for everyone and the
issue of distance, we have decided to move our
Bible study sessions online via Zoom.
It was refreshing and a great blessing to see RBC
deacons and leaders attending our service to
observe how we conduct our special worship.
Everyone was encouraged, and we praise God
for the opportunity to share in such fellowship.
Furthermore, we continue to have productive
meetings with RBC (RuislipBaptist Church)
church leaders and the IT team to explore ways of
strengthening our partnership with our hearing
brothers and sisters at RBC. As a result of these
discussions, we have seen positive
developments, including:
• The relocation of Hand in Hand services to a
larger room in the hall.
• One of our leaders being invited to preach
during RBC’s Disability Awareness Sunday
services.
• Alison Hayes being given the opportunity to
teach basic Deaf awareness to church leaders, as
well as being entrusted with the role of supporting
and teaching children during Sunday School at
RBC.
Hand in Hand Ministry remains grateful to RBC
for providing BSL interpretation on the 1st and 3rd
Sundays of each month. It was truly heartwarming
to see Michael and Fiona Citroen stepping up to
interpret during RBC Sunday services and
meetings, as well as actively participating in Hand
in Hand Ministry. We bless God for their
dedication and service.
In collaboration with Go! Sign ( a national
organisation dedicated to creating a network of
information about the Christian faith, events,
churches, and training—particularly in the UK—to
support Deaf people and others who use British
Sign Language. Its mission is to advance the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially among Deaf
people, and to promote their full participation in
church life and communities), Hand in Hand
Ministry helped to organise a UK Deaf Church
Leaders Gathering at RBC on 18th January. The
event was a tremendous success, with almost 40
attendees, and we are grateful to RBC for
providing the hall to host this important gathering.
To conclude this report, we must continue to
embrace the exhortation of Romans 10:14—to
preach the Gospel and spread the Good News so
that no soul is lost without hearing about Jesus
Christ, who loves them and gave His life for them.
