During the year we were awarded renewed accredltatton with Art8 Council
England.

Our landlord is Tunbridge Wells Borough Council with whom hold a
lease forthe Museum building

ectives and activities
The Objects of the CIO are the advancement of public eduGation in, and
the study of, local history.
For the purpose of this clause, the local area shall mean Cranbrook &
Sissinghurst in particular, and the Weald of Kent, in general.

2025 was a good year ft)r visitor numbers, very much in line with last
year, included in which were almost 250 children on organised school
visits. We also conducted a series of very successful Outreach projects,
including local primary, secondary, and special n88ds schools.

Our archives department had another very busy year, with visitors from
far and wide, notably several Am8ri¢ans r88earching families. We have
also inv8Sted in some Digitising Equipment, which will eventually enable
the digitising of all th8 Museum's recordsl
The Museum is a membar of a county wide initiative called 'Wheels of
rime, covering 56 heritage sites in Kent. We welcomed a significant of
parentslchildren over the season.

Financial review
The Trustees have agreed that, where possible, the CIO will hold the
equivalent of one yearfs ovérheads (currently circa £14k) in liquid
reserves, ie either Bank current or deposit account. Any surplus reserves
may, if thought prudent, be invested in longer term accounts.{see below)

We receive a grant from T10￿c which assists with ovetheads, utilities
et¢. Grants are obtained for specific projects and we have a regular flow
of funds through donation boxes and members, subscriptions.
W8 have increased our collection of local art {$8e above) and are
currently displaying a pair of Roman ums, on loan from another local
history society.
Any surplus furKls are deposlted through CCLA in a COIF Deposit
Account.
