The directors present their report and accounts for the year ended 30 November 2024.
Principal activities
The company's principal activity during the year continued to be Activities of Christian Religion. The church has been able to advance our course and achieve greater impact within the community. We are able to create health awareness and health check for the local people. We have been able to reach more individuals within the community with our food bank a dream nurtured through years of prayer and planning. This initiative stands as an encouragement of support for both our members and the wider local community during these challenging times.
Our weekly service
Our regular schedule remains steadfast: Sunday services continue from 10:30 am to 1 pm at our new location, the Adult College on 127 Ripple Rd, Barking IG11 7PB, necessitated by various challenges including financial constraints. Mid-week Bible studies persist every Wednesday from 7 pm to 8 pm via Zoom, while evangelism efforts are concentrated on the third Friday of each month. Additionally, the first Friday hosts house fellowships and the last Friday is dedicated to a night of praise and prayers. Men gather for prayer meetings every Monday from 7 pm to 8 pm via Zoom, while women convene periodicals on Fridays at 8 pm.
Ministry progress highlights
Our ministry has seen notable progress: Sunday service attendance is on the average of 80 members weekly, and the community food bank has been fully operational, positively impacting society. Successful summer evangelism/outreach activities resulted in new souls brought to God and increased church membership. The children's department, particularly the Sunday school, has flourished, with a rise in attendance and an expansion of teaching staff from 2 to 5 teachers. Plans are underway to commence teen classes later in 2025, with committed workers ready to contribute. We also offer pastoral care and conduct street evangelism.
Community engagement
In terms of community engagement, our endeavours have borne fruit:

employment within the community thereby reducing dependence on government benefits.
• We source qualified professionals, for free training in social care (vocational training) and IT courses like Business Analysis, Data Analytics, Cyber Security etc. (We strongly believe in empowering powerful people to gain financier independence)
• Food bank operations every Sunday and Health routine checks and counselling for local community members by qualified medical professionals.
Challenges and development projects
Despite these achievements, challenges persist. We had a dispute with the local council over the business rate of around £48,000 and the Electricity bill of about £44:000. Both disputes are contested currently.
Yet, with faith in God's grace, we aspire to expand our food bank initiatives to reach more people in need and to broaden our outreach and evangelism efforts to cover greater territory for the glory of our Lord Jesus.

Accountants' report to the directors of REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD GLORYLAND CONNECTIONS
We have examined the financial statements of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gloryland Connections (the charity) for the year ended 30 November, 2024 which comprise the Statement of Financial Activities, the Balance Sheet, the Statement of Cash Flows and the related notes, including a summary of significant accounting policies, the financial reporting framework that has been applied in their preparation, its applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards, including Financial Reporting Standard 102 - ‘The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland’ (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) in preference to the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1 April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has been withdrawn.
This has been done in order for the accounts to provide a true and fair view in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2015.
In our opinion the financial statements:

Give a true and fair view of the state of the charity’s affairs as at 30 November 2022 and of

its incoming resources and application of resources for the year ended;

Have been properly prepared in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted

Have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
This report is made solely to the charity’s trustees, as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. Our examination of the accounts has been undertaken so that we might state to the charity’s trustees those matters we are required to state to them in an examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and its trustees, as a body, for the independent examination work, or for the opinions we have formed.

1 Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (as applied to small entities by section 1A of the standard).
Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the buyer. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.
Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulative depreciation and any accumulative impairment losses. Depreciation is provided on all tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, at rates calculated to write off the cost, less estimated residual value, of each asset evenly over its expected useful life, as follows:

Debtors
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price), less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts. Loans and other financial assets are initially recognised at transaction price including any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method, less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts.
Creditors
Short term creditors are measured at transaction price (which is usually the invoice price). Loans and other financial liabilities are initially recognised at transaction price net of any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method.
Provisions
Provisions (ie liabilities of uncertain timing or amount) are recognised when there is an obligation at the reporting date as a result of a past event, it is probable that economic benefit will be transferred to settle the obligation and the amount of the obligation can be estimated reliably.

6 Contingent Liaibility
There is a contingent liability of about £48,000 in respect of business rate and £44,000 electricity
bill which the charity is disputing. An appeal has been lodged and the outcome is being awaited.
