Structure, governance and management

The Charity is registered with the Charity Commission under registration number 1193046. For the year 2021-22 there were three Trustees, with ongoing work to appoint a fourth Trustee. The Trustees meet regularly to discuss the performance of the Charity against the stated aims, future plans to further the aims of the Charity and a financial update.

Objectives and activities

The purposes of the Charity are the advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the basis of faith, primarily, but not exclusively within the London Borough of Lambeth and the surrounding neighbourhood. This work includes such charitable purposes as shall in the opinion of the Trustees, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the basis of faith including but not limited to:

The prevention of relief and need, hardship and sickness, and the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life; provided that the advancement of such purposes must be undertaken in a manner that is consistent with the doctrinal distinctives and ethical statements.

These objectives are achieved through volunteers and one full time employee of the charity. Events such as weekly sports outreach, toddler groups, community café, lunch club and Sunday services. From time to time the charity will host one off events that again seek to achieve the objectives set out above.

Achievements and performance

As a Charity with a strong focus on the local community in Vauxhall, throughout the pandemic we were able to keep strong relational ties with the people we are seeking to support and reach. This has stood us in good stead as we are now adjusting to the new normal. Hybrid working has enabled volunteers to remain involved in the various activities that the Charity is involved in.

On the whole we have been encouraged with the progress of the Charity, and we have seen an overall increase of impact with local community members, leading to more people being cared for and supported in line with the Charity’s objectives.

As a new Charity we have also been encouraged to see donations coming in regularly.

Financial review

This is the first year we are submitting a financial report but donations between the period of 22[nd] October 2021 and 31[st] January 2022 totalled £19,361. At the end of this period we had cash reserves in the bank totalling, £17,778. The costs of the Charity went to the running of various ministries and events that are in line with the Charities aims and objectives.
