Welcome to Harrow Cycle Hub's fourth Annual Report.
Our Vision, developed In 2023:
In flve years, time. we envisage the Harrow Cycle Hub as a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable
communlty hub dedicated to transforming Harrow into a cycling-friendly borough. Our vision 15 to
see Harrow as a place where cycling is not just a mode of transport but a way of life,
positively impacting the wellbeing, environment, and connectivity of our community..
We're a reglstered Charlty founded In January 2021:
Our Trustees set policy, ensure we operate legally and look after our money
Our Steering Group runs our programmes
We support people 10 cycle at the former Clvlc Centre
We have one staff member and 50 volunteers
We love wod<ing with other community groups
We care about how we work and alm to include everyone.
We are grateful to Harrow Public Health for funding and more: and to Harrow Council
for providing the Civic Centre site. When that site is redeveloped. we aim to build a
permanent Hub in a Harrow park. enabling even more Harrow people to cycle and
working towards our Vision.

Anna's Story
Anna Ananth, 56, lives in Hatch End and learned to ride with Harrow Cycle Hub in 2022.
'1 had always wanted to leam to cycle but never got an opportunity growlng up.
I didn't have a cycle and mostly boys rode in the neighbourhood.
'Initially I found learning to ride hard, having never sat on a bike. However, the coaches
were very patient. calm and supportive. They allowed everyone to learn at thelr own pace.
Then I completed a Confidence 8uilder course and purchased my first bike and accessories.
'Pragna. one of our coaches, also organlsed short rldes around Hatch End, whlch wa5
very helpful as It helped cement what we had learnt. l am grateful to all Hub leaders who
spend their time and energy organlslng rides,. all have the same goal of maklng sure
we a￿ safe and have an enjoyable time.
'Leaming to cycle has glven me freedom to loin other organised rides, visit new places,
meet people and exercise on rhe sly. It also enabled me to complece the 30-mSle
Ride London event last year.
.1 chose to volunteer at Harrow Cycle Hub because I now have a valuable sknll which
I had always wanted to leam. I felt I wanted to give 50methlng back to such a worthwhile cause.,

Rides
British Cycling-qualified volunteer leaders take out friendly rides of 5-25miles.
1203 attendances in 2024 - 67% up on 20231
Kevin Lynch led 73 rides. Pragna Shah, Veronica Chamberlain and
Delani Nanthathayalan led 25 or more rides. 25 other volunteers led or assisted,
Kenton Road Club Chair Des said.. 'Every time I see Kevin's Facebook posts
encouraging people to ride in later life. it gladdens my heart.,
We organised Ride Leader and First Aid courses for 10 new leaders.
Ellie said.. 'The leadership course was a highlight and I look forward
to leading rides myself.,
Kevin and Janet led an ambitious Big Day Out ride of over 55 miles.
Three Hub teams took part in StreetTag, the Council-sponsored app encouraging
physical activity; the Hub's teams won vouchers to fund events and equipment.
One rider said,. '1 am so grateful to Harrow Cycle Hub. Through their guided rides I have galned
much more cycling confidence as well as had many great days out!,

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of Harrow Cycle Hub
For The Year Ended 31 December 2024
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charitV'5 trustees
consider that an aud it 15 not required for thi5 year under section 144121 of the Charities Act 2011 (the
2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
examine the accoLJnts under section 145 of the 2011 Act,
to follow the procedure5 laid (Jown in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 14515llbl of the 2011 Act, and
lo slate whether parriculèr matters have corrie to my attention.
Basis of independent examiner's statement
My examination wa5 carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounring records kept by the charity and a
comparison of the account5 presented with those records. It 3150 includes con5iderabon of any
unusual item5 or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanatons from YOLJ as trLJStees
concerning any such matters. The procedure5 undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would
be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a
'true and fair view, a nd the report is limited to those matters Set out in the staterNent below.
