Yusra Trust holds weekly meetings to discuss projects and running of the charity. Decisions are made with all Trustees being present. Recruiting of Trusteeship is done by looking for individuals with the correct skillset that can aid the aims and objectives of Yusra Trust. Potential Trustees would be checked to see they are not disqualified under the charities act.
Objectives & Activities
Yusra Trust has been collecting donations for food packs for children, widows and needy people working closely with an authorized and well-established charity, Iyilik Koprusu.
Achievements and performance, including reporting on its public benefit
Morocco Earthquake
Due to a major disaster in Morocco Yusra Trust decided to raise funds to aid the needy affected by the Morocco earthquake disaster. The charity raised £4030. Asian rural foundation distributed the donations to the affected victims in Morocco on our behalf.

Turkey Earthquake
In February 2023, the In February 2023, the world was shocked by the news of the catastrophic earthquake that struck the border region between Turkey and Syria. This tragic event resulted in the loss of numerous lives and left countless individuals homeless and impoverished overnight. The earthquake's proximity to Kayseri enabled us to swiftly respond to the crisis. However, upon further assessment, we observed that Turkey was receiving substantial support from its government, while the situation in Syria remained dire. Consequently, we redirected our focus towards Syria, leveraging our established partnerships on the ground to facilitate access and aid to those in need.
Syrian refugees
Yusra Trust was able to distribute Suhoor and Iftar packs to the Syrian refugees in Turkish refugee camps. Our aim being to provide much-needed essentials before the commencement of Ramadhan. Working alongside Turkish charity Iyilik Koprusu. Yusra Trust along with NGOs managed to negotiate with wholesalers in Turkey the best price for the food packs. Food packs contained some of the essentials such as:
Oil, lentils, tea, flour, chickpeas, pasta, bulgur, sugar, salt, dates, rice, olives.
This project was carried out with the aid of Iyilik Koprusu. Iyilik Koprusu distributed the packs on our behalf in the month of ramadaan.
Kayseri
In 2023 Yusra Trust continued supporting Syrian, Uzbek and Uyghur refugees residing in the Kayseri region of Turkey. A minimum of 25 families, orphans, widows and needy were provided with support monthly. Some recipients are in an educational background, either teaching or studying. This project has been aided by another Turkish charity, Ilyilik Koprusu Yardimlasma ve Dayanisma Dernegi.
Qurbani (sacrificial animals)
Qurbani was collected from donors in March/April 2023. The meat was used to feed the poor and needy in Kayseri.
Yusra Trust started the year with the aim of aiding the poor and needy. Yusra Trust was very happy to achieve this via the three projects mentioned above and it also achieved more than what had originally been planned.
Aims

(1) To relieve financial hardship among poor people, widows, orphans and other people in need by means of, but not exclusively, making grants or loans for providing or paying for items, equipment, services and facilities, including the provision of food, water and clothing, and livelihood programmes for the benefit of the said persons;
(2) To advance education for the benefit of the general public by means of, but not exclusively, the provision or the assistance in the provision of educational activities and facilities, such as schools and training centres for the benefit of said persons;
(3) To relieve sickness and to preserve good health among persons in need, by means of, but not exclusively, the provision or assistance in the provision of medical equipment or facilities such as testing and treatment centres and clinics for the benefit of the said persons;
(4) To advance the religion of Islam, by means of, but not exclusively, promoting the teachings and tenets of Islam via the assistance in the provision of Islamic education and facilities for worship in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as interpreted by the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jamaah school of thought.

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended31/12/2023. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: |

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
• the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
